Just an uneducated guess. > Hi Crew - Balance is 6 points - 2 eyes, 2 balance nerves, and 2 legs (feet, ankles, knees.....) Most of us NF2 loose balance from balance nerve being involved w/ AN's. Spinal tumors involve the rest of your body depending on their location and size - nerves at each vertebrate level controls different parts of your body - the higher the tumor, the more involvement. After my first spinal surgery, I was paralyzed from the neck down with no feeling at all. The nerves were in shock from exposure. It took a long time and alot of work to regain movement and feeling. As long as nerve is not severed, it is possible to regain use of it. Our eyes help our balance by being a reference -- that's why we aren't as balanced in the dark. I have nite-lights all over the house. Every little bit helps. Hugs, LynnBK
