Guest guest
I'm new here. My son is 11. He has done biomed since around 3 years old with some minor success. MB12 helped give him much=needed energy. He was never vaccinated but did regress into autism. We did some viral testing a number of years back,,,everything was negative (HSV 1/2, HHV6,Rubella IgG and IgM, Varicella, Measles, EBV CMV,Polio, Mumps. We did the varicella again after he had chicken pox (I exposed him to my grandmother that had shingles...no gains or regressions after this illness). He had molluscum for about a year. He is not hyper. He is not one to get sick a lot and does not seem to benefit from a fever. He gets quiet when he has a fever. For about 2-3 years after he regressed, he would seem to re-regress and/or stop learning from November until about April when he would do better again. This went away after we started classical homeopathy. He has multiple food allergies, some environmental. He has chronically high IgE levles (usually somewhere in the 2000-4000 range), high eosinophils. He had a positive Anne Connolly test a while back. Many times, but not always, he has high lymphocytes on his CBC. His MCV is always high (probably why he responds to MB12). We did immunoglobins at one point and they were normal (except IgE). Strep titers were negative until he had strep, then the titers went down to zero again after a year or two. %NK cells were slightly low back in 2007. We did a trial of Valtrex some time back. I did not see any positives...only that his ears cracked so deep where the lobes attach to his head that it caused pain with washing hair, changing his shirt, etc. and we stopped. We always washed the dye off. I have given him high-dose vitamin A in the past. He would be quiet during the high-dose days and then about three days after he would talk more. He started having absence seizures last year late spring or early summer. A 24 hour EEG when he was three did not show any seizure activity. Dose Dr. G or Dr. R always require a SPECT scan? My son had an MRI last year with anesthesia and his speaking decreased and seizures increased for about 6 weeks...UGH! That is all I can think of for now. Any insight appreciated. Guest guest
Hi Jen, I will do my best to answer your questions as briefly as I can. When we met Dr. G exactly 8 years ago with my 3 year old son, I was petrified after traveling all the way from Toronto, Ontario to Tarzana, California that Dr. would say my son was not and all my hopes of what I believed and knew to be true would be dashed. Aside from some very obvious labs that Dr. G said certainly showed immune dysfunction, such as very high IgE that at the time I believe was 3700 with a RR of 0 - 60, and an HHv6 that was about 2700 with a RR of <.1, Dr. G said that if my son had met developmental milestones - learned to roll over, smile, sit up, crawl and walk within the normal time frame, but lost skills or did not continue to develop then he would most definitely consider my child to have an immune dysfunction and not " Autism " . The fact that your child does not often get sick or get a fever could be a sign of a hypo-immune system. kids tend to be one way or the other - hypo or hyper, but neither way is " normal " . The key however is to get a child's immune system cooled off or activated (again depending on the hyper or hypo situation) sooner then later and the more time goes on, the harder it is to get a homeostatic system and therefore a child with a healthy immune system. The fact that your son reacted to Valtrex, shows that it was doing something. If there were no herpes issues, then the mere taking of the antiviral would have done absolutely nothing at all. (Sometimes it can appear to do nothing as well, but that is a more complicated situation that needs a lot further discussion!) Furthermore, the start of absence seizures also is indicative of a neuroinflammation due to viral overload. Dr. G is not a fan to say the least of the DAN protocol and feels that more often then not it harms the child more then it benefits them. Know that he would remove your son from most supplements and as long as you haven't chelated, he would most likely be able to help your son. A SPECT scan is not necessary although any and all test results would be beneficial for Dr. G (or Dr. ) to see. It is a long road to recovery for many of us, and unfortunately more so the older a child gets. Hope this gives you some insight into the way of thinking and answers your questions. All the very best to you and your child, Lori _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of djajhooten Sent: October-06-10 5:59 PM Subject: Candidate for ? I'm new here. My son is 11.
