Guest guest
Gaylen, I do not know where you live or the age of you school system but I have had similar issue with Connor. I wonder if the school itself is to fault. I live in South Florida and for several years he was in Portables that are prone to mold and other allergen as well as Formaldehyde. The last two year we have been in a new school that was built in 12007 when Chinesse dry wall and other environmental allergen were an issue. I suspect that after a month or two we are driving these kid's IGe up and creating an issue. It is impossible to access any kind of air quality testing. Does anyone here know how to test environmentalallergens at school? ________________________________ From: " Googahly@... He still needs the medicine but has progressed very nicely. Due to finances, we have not been able to work with Dr. G for several years so use a local immunologist to continue the protocol. Over the past few years, I have noticed a very clear trend of him starting off the school year extremely strong. Starting in late October or November, he tends to go through a period of extreme brain fog and major working memory problems. This can last well into February sometimes. This year, after completing a brain training program, he was doing especially well from July - early November. Then, I noticed that he caught a cold or mild upper respitory bug in early November and declined a week or so later. He's now extremely foggy headed and gets confused very easily. Schoolwork is like torture and he's very easily frustrated. I'm wondering if this trend is due to viruses being more common this time of year. Have any of you seen a similar trend? If so, is there some sort of extra protection that can be done during this time? Gaylen
Guest guest
Hi Galen, This is an interesting point you brought up and something I also notice in my son as well. He is fantastic through the summer, starts school strongly and settles without issues at all until about the end of October or sometimes even as late as the end of November. After being on Dr. G's protocol for so many years, I can say without a doubt that it does not have to do with needing or experiencing a med change because year after year it is the same thing until about February. He doesn't even get this foggy in the heart of allergy season in the spring. Without a doubt, I do see my son get more symptomatic when he is ill, but for the last few years, he has been the healthiest one in the family. As everyone around him falls ill and is taken out of their normal routine for one viral issue or another, he remains fine, but does get spacey and forgetful. I have been wondering if somehow, his immune system is reacting with more neuro inflammation instead of typical bronchial, sinus or upper respitory inflammation when he is exposed to a contagion. Perhaps, in our cold winter environment it has to do with indoor air quality and allergens, but we don't see any noticeable increase in his IgG, yet this seems to make the most sense to me??? I really have no idea and know that I am reaching, but I did read your email with tremendous familiarity. I wish I had an answer for you (and me!). I will try and remember to bring it up with Dr. G at my next phone conference and let you know. Warm regards, Lori _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Googahly@... Guest guest
I remember Dr saying something about kids in the fall ? up in northern NY lose speech in the fall. I'm not sure if it's when hardwoods do something. My son went nuts when goldenrod was blooming. I also think there's something that happens with juniper (or is that summer?). Then, as fall hits, tree mold here in Alabama becomes a BIG problem. I can smell it when I walk outside, living down in a valley. But Bill, my son is saying that the building at school is making him sick. He has told me before other things that were bothering him, and been on target (oh but never ever a food he loves - oh no - that could never happen). Of course they also may not go outside as much. Then there's colds going around... Fall/winter sucks. ________________________________ From: Bill klimas <klimas_bill@...> Sent: Fri, December 3, 2010 4:15:25 PM Subject: Re: Fall/Winter regressions?  Gaylen, I do not know where you live or the age of you school system but I have had similar issue with Connor. Guest guest
I think you are all on to something, as we see this exact pattern with my son every fall as well. Guest guest
Donna, I sent the following to Dr. Goldberg. I will let you all know his answer. On the list there has been some discussion about regression during the winter months. I used to call it the Halloween slump because for us it usually occurred after Halloween every year. Some of us have been talking and think the correlation could be to the amount of exercise kids get in the cold weather. Once we moved to California and was exercising all year we no longer had the regression. Whenever ate an offending food, I would increase the exercise and water. For him, he was always crystal clear after swimming. I never understood why this happened. I just know it did and this was my Dr. Mom solution. I can only imagine the speeding up of the metabolism had this effect. Am I correct? Best, Marcia

Guest guest
Hi everyone. I am new to all of this but have been doing biomedical interventions with my daughter for 2 years. I am wondering what are the major differences between and DAN! They actually sound kind of similar to me with just a few variations. Is this the case? I am just learning about . I have seen some progress with my daughter but not much and am wondering if would take us further. Guest guest
Yes, tree mold is everywhere in the fall, not to mention the indoor stuff.
