Guest guest
Hi Folks,I always do one new thing at a time, for good reason. This reason came home to roost this week. Got some nice decaf tea that I sweetened with xylitol to drink over ice. A nice new hot weather treat, but maybe too much xylitol. Then my DIL sent me a 2-month supply of Mila, a high-grade mix of chia seed meal, and for the last 3 days I've added one Tbs. scoop of it in my morning smoothies.Problem:The entire length of my digestive tract seems to be full of gasses, making ventriloquial noises that make my dog bark and even fool me into thinking there are mice in the wall next to me!Perfect storm? Is the fiber of Mila making this gas? Can chia cause a herx? Or is the xylitol killing stuff and causing an intestinal herx? Mila/chia is supposed to be anti-inflammatory, but I don't know what its dynamics are. Any clues?I'm suspecting this IS a herx, that's affecting liver/GB because I had a massive, referred shoulder/neck pain that went away after an afternoon CE today. Any theories, advice? I know chia is supposed to be good, but I don't like it in my smoothie much. Trying to give it a real try of at least a couple weeks, anyway. Should I stop the xylitol for a while? Could that really be making this herxing? When will I learn?Be well,Léna
