Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the club, I think. Although none of us ever wanted to be here, there are some great people who have done so much to help their own kids and this site is a wealth of information. I have been doing this for about 16 years and still learn new stuff from these incredible parents. I almost feel like a broken record because I have told this story so often, but there are always new people who haven't heard it. So you old guys, please forgive me for repeating myself again. My son was diagnosed with autism when he was four. The psychiatrist told us would probably end up in a group home or institution. She was wrong. The only institution is in today is the university he currently attends on an academic scholarship. does all the things the doctors told me he would never be able to do. He lives in a dorm with three guys who don't know he ever had autism. At school, he studies mechanical engineering and is number two in his class. joined Sigma Chi fraternity and was president of the Jewish Student Association. He drives, has tons of friends, and even had a girlfriend for three months (who would have seen that one coming?) But more importantly, is happy. If anyone had told me this was possible when he was little, I never would have believed them. How could this possibly be the same kid who spent his days plugging in a portable radio into every outlet in the house, made weird noises, and hurt his sister? Most medical doctors are finally starting to accept is that Autism, ADD, ADHD are the result of a medical condition, an immune system that isn't working properly. Dr. Goldberg even coined his own term for this condition. He calls it --Neuroimmune Dysfunction Syndrome. Unfortunately, each child with this immune issue or autism is different. And what caused the problem may not be the same also. What works for one might not work for another. It is very complicated, but the way I understand it some children with autism have immune systems that work overtime and produce too many disease fighters for too long; while at other times their systems do not produce enough. This results in some children having chronic infections and viruses in their systems. That is why some of our children get ill easily and others seem like they never catch anything. Some with overactive immune systems don't appear sick at all, but they are. Please email me privately if you would like me to forward the information on how we helped medically. But know medical alone is not enough. After you get their bodies working you need to catch them up on what they missed. Guest guest
Hi everyone. I have been reading a something just came to me. If a child's immune system is overactive (as I think my child's might be) what would be the signs if any prior to testing? Also wondering, would the treatments be the same (like the anitvirals, antifungals, etc.)? We haven't started this protocol yet, but very interested and researching. Guest guest
, One clue is a child who ³never gets sick²... theoretically, they have a body that is in attack mode, all of the time, so they don¹t get sick. When you think about it, that¹s not a good thing... it¹s not good for a body to be constantly flooded with antibodies. One reason is the theory of molecular mimicry, where the antibodies might get confused and attack something they shouldn¹t (strep triggering rheumatic fever is a good example of this). Guest guest
Listmates, My son has an overactive immune system. He is never " sick " . My question is after being on the protocol for almost three years and on immunovir for 1 1/2 years shouldn't his immune system be showing signs of normalcy? Shouldn't he be getting sick like our typical kids by now? His NK cells went up a little but other than that we don't see any change with the overactive immune system. Would love to know your thoughts. Guest guest
Hi Martha, My son, has been in Dr. G's care since he was 4 & 1/2, he's 12 now. When he was younger, he got sick all of the time, constant ear & sinus infections (maybe two or 3 times a month!), he and his sister even got Pneumonia about 3 years ago! At around 8, he started getting better, the ear infections are almost gone! Then December 31st, he got a nasty cough, and he's been out of school all of this week. We are still struggling with his HHV-6, and NK Cells, but overall I think he's making great progress. The dark circles under his eyes are a thing of the past! Don't Goldberg tightened his diet again, no corn products now, so we'll see how that helps with the lab results. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Is LDN good for children with over active immune systems also. My son is the opposite. He was hit with the Herpes virus at 19 months and was horribly sick for 5 weeks. Since then, he does not even get a sniffle. I was thinking of trying LDN. Anyone tried it with their child who never gets sick? ________________________________ From: Cotter <cotter.mary1@...> Sent: Fri, January 7, 2011 1:27:15 PM Subject: Re: Re: New here.... our progress is very slow.i saw no side effects from ldn but some parents report that it can cause wakefullness until body adjusts. our son went from being continually sick for over 2 years to never been sick with the LDN his body is responding as it should he is getting sick and fighting it off,the whole family had the swine flu before christmas and he along with us all was pretty sick for 2 weeks but came through it fine. he has the usual problems of heavy metals and viral issues compounded by lymes and bartonella.we have a long way to go but LDN is one thing i will be sticking with,it just makes sense to me On Fri, Jan 7, 2011 at 5:24 PM, Sheryl <ssaturnino@...> wrote: > > > Thanks, . Guest guest
Sheryl, I¹m sorry... I don¹t know much about LDN and I¹ve never discussed it with Dr. G so I¹m no help in this area. I can tell you that he is very, veeeeery, VERY picky about the effects a drug has on the immune system, so there may be something about the way LDN stimulates various things (or doesn¹t) that he feels isn¹t the right approach. Maybe someone else know more than I do (In fact I¹m sure they do!). Caroline From: Sheryl <ssaturnino@...> Reply-< > Date: Fri, 07 Jan 2011 09:24:08 -0800 (PST) " " < > Subject: Re: Re: New here....
