Guest guest
Okay let me try to break it down further!~ sitting in a chair upright2 Place on hand Thumb on one side of the leg, fingers on the other, just above the knee. effectively you are right above the insertion point of the muscle3The other hand goes at the top of the thigh in the same way such that you are sort of grabbing the muscles.4 Press down with your palm of your hands so you are putting pressure on the muscle5 draw your hands together slowly without lifting them off the leg, keeping the pressure constant.Your hands will likely stop a few inches away from each other at a point of natural resistance6 hold your hands on the muscles in this position until you feel the muscle soften. This might feel like a loosening or actual a softening under your hands such that you can add a little more pressure or your hands will naturally be able to move a little closer.7When that happens, Keeping the pressure on the muscle , slowly spread your hands( and the muscle under then back apart until you are stretching the muscle apart8 slowly , very slowly let up the pressure on the muscleBasically during this process , you have drawn the muscle together so that it can relax and then you stretch the muscle out and this should stop or reduce the muscle spasm OT: Muscle spasms was Re: Malic Acid supplements Posted by: "tim2buk" tim2buk@... tim2buk Date: Wed Jun 6, 2012 1:21 pm ((PDT))Jan,Yes, it is lactic acid that builds up if you are fortunate enough to be able to exercise. I'm not familiar with cupping but I'll look it up. The other massage that you describe is a little hard to figure out the actual movement of the hands without seeing it. Does this technique have a name by any chance--is it like Swedish? My problem is I don't have much strength to massage myself. But perhaps if I could find a massage therapist I could get some relief & maybe learn how to do it. Thank you very much for your comments & info.
