Guest guest
I was only taking a total of 40mg per day. That was enough to weaken me so I could barely get out of bed. It felt like I had no abdominal muscles! I think it is a dangerous drug and wanted everyone to know.
Guest guest
I am taking 120 mg of baclofen per day and am sure that it makes a positive difference in my leg stiffness. Also 6mg of valium. Weakness comes and goes. Also taking Copaxone and just started LDN 3 weeks ago. The LDN helped stamina and balance initially but no further benefits yet. Hope for stop of progression. -- [low dose naltrexone] Re: Baclofen I was only taking a total of 40mg per day. That was enough to weaken me so I could barely get out of bed. Guest guest
, So, I take it that the Copaxone has not stopped the progression? Guest guest
Marcie, Ive been on Copaxone for 18 months and have concluded that progression may have slowed but certainly not stopped. My Neurologist prescribed it because we had tried everything else without success. And I mean eveyrthing. I see my Doc every 6 months and each time there is a significant progression. Now he's reluctant to give me Tysabri because I'M SPMS. He never mentioned LDN. My wife stumbled upon it on the Internet. I had to find another Neuro to prescribe it. Naturally We got very excited and hope that it helps. Best regards, -- [low dose naltrexone] Re: BaclofenI was only taking a total of 40mg per day. Guest guest
, That's what really makes me think that this doc is just trying to write scripts since I'm PPMS, and it only for the relapsing type. It's also dangerous, and I seriously doubt he would take it himself. Good luck with the LDN! Guest guest
Yes I take 30mg a day with my LDN and hope to soon back off the dosage of baclofen as I do not need so much anymore. My spasms has lessened. On 6/3/07, john <kerriganjk@...> wrote: can anyone tell me if you can use baclofen with ldnthanksjohn
Guest guest
Yes, they work fine together. But may I suggest trying several other things to help with pain & spasms? I have saved many saved chats from other things that help in this area. One thing is to try DLP which works well with LDN, another thing is the soap trick, and then there are various supplements. I will forward over the older chats. Guest guest
My Dr tried me on both Baclofen and Neurontin and both of them made me worse so I stopped taking them. The Baclofen in just 2-3 days taking it took me back to when I was first diagnosed with MS and TM so I stopped taking it and now take Methocarbamol plus I take Klonopin (helps with tremors, spacticity, pain), and Darvocet plus the LDN at night. Guest guest
Has anyone heard of using baclofen with kids in the spectrum? This article came out and I would appreciate any feedback: http://healthland.time.com/2010/12/01/how-a-new-version-of-an-old-drug-may-s omeday-help-treat-autism-and-addiction-too/ Our little guy is currently on low, low dose risperidol because his aggressions and anger are through the roof. We are trying it all (diet, no milk, limited bread, constant playdates, Pivotal Response Therapy, etc.) but in the meantime it is our last resort and keeps him in school. Very sad for a child who is tested as gifted and would absolutely be the top in his class. Our immune guy is testing him for anticardiolipin antibodies through a lab in Germany but will not do ivig at this time. He spoke to Dr. Cunningham and is not convinced that our guy meets PANDAS criteria even though his CamKinase was 194 - in the Syndenham's Chorea range as he did not have elevated strep titers (I even took the research showing that most don't show elevated strep titers and it didn't fly with him) and our son was diagnosed with Tourette's by a colleague of his so he doesn't want to go back on the prior diagnosis. Baclofen sounds like it may help him as it seems to help those with muscle issues and our son says he cannot control his movements at times. We tried low dose antidepressants (Prozac, Lexapro) and they don't seem to help his anger issues. J consistently has high lymphs, low neutrophils. I suggested viral but the dr poo pooed that idea. J has been tested for every viral under the sun except XMRV...Any comments are welcome.
Guest guest
Sounds like you need more support from your doc. We are about to do the test w/Cunningham as well because of OCD, but our titers that most labs run our not elevated. We've been back and forth with the aggressiveness and haven't had any for awhile. The things for us that cause it are dyes and preservatives in food, high testosterone, yeast/bacteria/or parasites in the gut. My son also has problems with many non-compounded prescription meds and can suffer extreme irritability and/or aggressiveness with those. I hope you are able to find your son's trigger because I know it hurts to see your child be aggressive when it's not truly who they are and it's hard to have people scared to be with your child. -Crystal
