Guest guest
Hi, Marcia. Just out of curiosity, what was Dr. G's reason for advising against having 's tonsils taken out? He had it a lot and whenever he got it I would get it. He also snored like a freight train and it shook the walls of the house it was so loud. That is a symptom of sleep apnea. Sometimes the antibiotics didn't work and the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor we went to said the tonsils and adenoids needed to come out to alleviate the problem. I chickened out with my older daughter when she was seven and she later needed to have them out at 22 which was a lot harder for her. had the tonsils and adenoids out when he was about six and it was one of the best things I ever did for him. Dr. G advised me not to do it. But I went ahead anyway since strep was such a problem for us. He was much healthier after that and I think his quality of sleep improved as well. I don't remember about the ADHD type behavior because it was a long time ago but I know he improved immensely after the surgery. Hope that helps, Marcia
Guest guest
I have a website with peer reviewed published studies on Sleep apnea. Obstructive sleep apnea can lead to oxygen deprived damage and other great health issues. Having a husband that does have this disorder he uses a sleep apnea machine and later will have surgery on the problem. Guest guest
, Would you share the web site with peer reviewed published studies on Sleep Apnea. This is something that I am certain my husband has and we are just looking into diagnosing and treating the condition. Currently, I am afraid to sleep as I feel the need to poke and nudge him all night when he appears to stop breathing. Is this auto immune or a mechanical problem. Many thanks for the info. Guest guest
Don't worry - he'll start breathing again on his own.  ________________________________ From: Lori <lbharris@...> Sent: Mon, January 17, 2011 11:48:25 AM Subject: RE: Re: sleep apnea, ADHD and tonsillectomy  , Would you share the web site with peer reviewed published studies on Sleep Apnea.
