Guest guest
Why is taking antibiotics when first bitten beneficial, but not beneficial (causing encysting) when the Lyme is chronic? If the antibiotics make the spiros go into cyst form, then why don't they do this all the time?
Guest guest
Probably because its mostly in the blood, and the poison gets em real quick , who knows maybe half the people out here have the chron and dont even know it. But it doesnt always work thats for sure. One thing I wonder about, when they give you like two doxys when you just got bit, no symptoms. Do they do that where yall live? they got this lime hotline here that does that. Anway, I wonder about the " science " behind that, what if it leaves just enough to cause a colony somewhere, not to mention, potentially being resistant to antibiotics. Same problem with their stupid two weeks for accute (or chronic for that matter). regardless, I think you should hit it with whatever you have at your disposal while its in the blood still. > > Why is taking antibiotics when first bitten beneficial, but not beneficial (causing encysting) when the Lyme is chronic? Guest guest
Hi Cameron and , When a tick first bites us, most of the infection is localized near the bite site... Some times this shows as bullseye rash. The 200 mg dose given once for up to 72 hours after the bite (sooner is better), is believed powerful enough to kill this smaller infection. But most important to still watch for symptoms and ever better is to get on a dose of abx for 28 days if the doctor will prescribe it... Problem is, most doctors will not prescribe without a positive test for Lyme... Take care, Jim > > > > Why is taking antibiotics when first bitten beneficial, but not beneficial (causing encysting) when the Lyme is chronic?
