Has anyone ever tried using Malic acid. I have a friend who has suffered with a

lot of muscle pain over the years and has done everything to try to help. She

has just started taking this and she said it has really really helped. I have

started having horrible lower back muscle tightening and it has caused a lot of

leg achiness, tingling and heavyness. Today is especially bad. I did do a

mere 30sec for Bart yesterday and maybe that is part of the problem however this

symptom started after a cold in January. It's just getting worse now.

Hi ,When I had GB issues, I was told that apple juice would be very ehlpful. This was true, but in an effort to cut down on sugar intake, I began taking the 'active ingredient' if apple juice, which is malic acid. It seems to be very helpful for liver/GB issues, and I think it also helps discourage stones. For muscle pain, I always first try Alka-Seltzer Gold or plain baking soda, as often muscle pain is from herxing or acidity and these two things help alkalize. If I awaken with joint and muscle pain, I take A-SG, crawl back into bed and wait for 1/2 hr. Generally the pain is decreased noticeably for me,(not a doc, only speaking as a Lymie lab-rat). Everyone is different, of course.Be well,Léna

Thanks for the info, I probably could use the liver/GB help too. Sounds like I could assist two problems at once. Tomorrow I will rife for bart again and see what happens. Never would have thought about alka selzer for pain.

Not regular alka-seltzer: Alka-Seltzer Gold. It's not always easy to find in stores, but amazon carries it. It contains no analgesics; it just alkalizes.Be well,Léna

hi cindy,in 2002 i started going to a dr who worked on pain management and only treated those with fibro.  he has a very successful protocol for pain and other fibro symptoms. one of the things he pushed was mag and malic acid.  said all with fibro have low mag levels.  interesting that now i know that many who have fibro have lyme, and lyme uses up our mag.  hmmm, and he didn't even know about this forum.

i don't remember if it helped me or not as i had a lot of other things going on at the time and don't think i stayed with the malic acid long.  the supps he recommended were expensive and we didn't have the $ at the time.

i have really increased my mag. using mag oil foot baths and have seen good improvement in many areas.  try to do them at night as they help me sleep.barbara
