Guest guest
My understanding is that Dr G doses acyclovir 5 times per day, that it's half life is too short. He states there are a lot of risks in under-dosing antivirals - the biggest problem being resistance. I had a test done for thyroid and an IgG was also done. The IgG for Herpes I came back at 8.94 HI - the reference was <0.90. My son has been on Acyclovir now for almost a year - 2 teaspoons twice daily. Considering he has been on the acyclovir so long should that number be lower? Also, is this IgG for Herpes I the same as having a viral titer test? I am in the process of getting to Dr. Goldberg but in the meantime if anyone can help I would appreciate it. Guest guest
Yes. I take acyclovir 800mg 5 times per day. It is the only antiviral that keeps my numbers down. Two of my boys do great on Famvir, but one is on acyclovir as well.
