Guest guest
Sure, the reason to make the change was there were suspicions of fugal infection due to the pathogen becoming resistant to the anti-fugal you were on. If so the new anti-fungal will cause additional die-off. We had die-off after a couple of months on immunovir because his own system was stirring up the virus by defending against it.. ________________________________ From: Colleen Waguespack <colleendesigns@...> Sent: Fri, November 5, 2010 1:55:07 PM Subject: die off after one year Dr. G recently changed our sons anti-fungal since it had been one year. Guest guest
Hi Colleen, We had our worst die off ever, 1 and 2 years into the protocol, even though I never suspected fungal infections or yeast issues with my son at all. I feel for you as my guy was a real mess for almost a month. Clearly a week or 2 longer then Dr. G said he would be experiencing kill off symptoms, but Dr. G was always right, my son WAS better then ever on the other side of it all. Cut your son a lot of slack as he really is feeling awful. Explain to him what is going on, help him to feel more comfortable with Tylenol, a lot of water and as much exercise as he can possibly get, as well as a super tight diet as the last thing his system needs when it is so stressed are any food infractions fanning the flames. You can google Herxheimer Reaction for more info and perhaps some deeper understanding. Hang in there. This was always the hardest part of the protocol for us as I literally felt we were going backwards. However I always thought, if the drug wasn't necessary or doing it's thing, then my son would have no reaction at all. Clearly it is doing SOMETHING.getting out a lot of toxins that have been making your son ill and perhaps symptomatic of other diseases with other names that have traditionally been thought to be psychological! It will get better but be strong! Guest guest
Sorry but most parents of ASD kids NEVER give tylenol to sick kids. It depletes their gluathione levels. Motrin in OK to give if the fever gets high. Luke warm baths work great. Guest guest
, Colleen and others of interest, It is not an issue of fever, but of trying to make the child comfortable from the symptoms of the kill off. Dr. G has always recommended Tylenol, at least for my son. Thanks for the reminder of the warm baths though, we use to do a lot of Epsom salt baths. Dr. G never had a problem with it. He wasn't sure it was worth the price of the Epsom salts, but a lot of parents have told him it was helpful so he says if it works, go for it. The Epsom salt is thought to be a good detoxifier and we have found the baths helpful for any rough spell, even from a food infraction.
