Reactivated Herpes Virus from antibiotics and seizure drugs

Hi Listmates,

 

This is freaking me out, it appears that some antibiotics and epileptic

medications are reactivating herpes virus. I have two reactions. One, my son is

doing a lot worse on lamictal and wondering if this is why. Two, from what I

understand, many of the kids (and adults) have low HHV titers at first but

they escalate after treatment begins. Is this correct? What do you do when you

have a jump in HHV titers? Do you switch antiviral medications? Why does this

virus reactivate? Please advise.
