Guest guest
Hi : Thanks for the additional info. I don't know if I am conveying that coconut fat is the answer to having energy while going extremely low carb? I am curious as to whether people understand that it supplies ketones, just as glucose does? Glucose and coconut fat are the only two healthy ways to get ketones. The other two ways. Starvation...body breaks down muscle/fat. It goes to the liver. The liver releases ketones. Cow/pig fat.....goes into the bloodstream. The cells break it down into ketones. SOME fat gets to the liver which converts it to glucose, which puts it into the blood stream. The brain is always tired due to low glucose, as the brain can only burn glucose or ketones. Try eating a high cow/pig fat diet yourself. I have. It is horrible. Even with a healthy fat like avocado you are constantly hungry, because as I mentioned, the brain can only burn glucose. No wonder kids can't stay on this diet, even adults can't. Potato chips: fat and sugar pizza: fat and sugar cereal: sugar rice/soy drinks: sugar drinks There is a MUCH better way to get your ketones. Coconut fat. Drink your ketones. :-) Rick On Fri, Feb 11, 2011 at 9:21 PM, <thecolemans4@...>wrote: > > > Dr G used to actually say " Use a modified Zone diet - the maintenance > diet.
