Guest guest
, A Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation doctor, or a Physiatrist, is either an MD or a DO, depending on which they decide to pursue. They are able to prescribe medications, however, their specialty lies in developing rehab programs tailored to the specific patient, helping them regain functionality and hopefully improving their quality of life. The one I saw was an MD, but I was only sent to him for diagnostic purposes. The kind of doctor they are most similar to are occupational medicine doctors. Hope this helps some!
