Guest guest
Dr Klimas in Miami is one of Dr G's mentors and was on the board in helping develop the protocol - she's at the Univ of Miami, and has opened a CFS clinic there. But I do not believe that group does anything at all with pediatrics. I don't know if you could call the clinic and ask if they recommend anyone, though? Not for " autism " , but for immune dysfunction similar to what you see in CFS. In the end, I would say don't bother trying to get local doctors to wake up to this - absolutely travel to Dr G or Dr . I can present a pretty good case, and I couldn't get any help for me OR either of my kids, one who was obviously very ill. I did actually have ONE good doctor, and he left pediatrics right as my son was getting sick w/CFS. HTH, good luck. ________________________________ From: wenruiz2 <taly@...> Sent: Wed, February 16, 2011 1:49:13 PM Subject: Doctor in Florida  Hello Everyone, We are currently seeing a DAN! doctor in Tampa Fl and are thinking about possibly having a consult with a doctor. We know about DR. Goldberg in Californi and DR. in Texas but aren't in the financial situation to fly anywhere right now. Does anyone know of a doctor in Florida and if so are they recommended? Thank you in advance Taly
Guest guest
, what you say is so true in my experience too. I have had doctors interested in but only to recommend it to parents, they would never actually do it themselves, they feel it is risky for their careers and they like their comfortable lives. In other words, Dr. G and Dr. are irreplacable, in both care and experience in treating children with autism successfully. Trust me. I know its expensive and HARD to travel out of state and do phone consults. But worth every bit of energy and money. We did it and we are broke but I have my child telling me she loves me and making me valentines.  But its much easier than raising a child with Autism!! -Jen From: <thecolemans4@...> Subject: Re: Doctor in Florida Date: Thursday, February 17, 2011, 8:06 AM  Dr Klimas in Miami is one of Dr G's mentors and was on the board in helping develop the protocol - she's at the Univ of Miami, and has opened a CFS clinic there. Guest guest
I will pipe in here. I have spoken with Dr Klimas about an autism side of her clinic and she would like to. She her self does not do pediatrics and until she makes the move to hire a pediatrician she will not see children,. She just does not have the experience in this very specialized field. I would not expect her to make a move in that direction any time soon. I do get our immune testing done at the U of M lab. It is one of the best in the country. If you are in south Florida my pediatrician understands the protocol and follows the lab work and such but only as a support for Dr G. She has seen several of Dr G patients but she is not willing to be the specialist in Autism. ________________________________ From: <thecolemans4@...> Sent: Thu, February 17, 2011 9:06:46 AM Subject: Re: Doctor in Florida Dr Klimas in Miami is one of Dr G's mentors and was on the board in helping develop the protocol - she's at the Univ of Miami, and has opened a CFS clinic there.
