Theresa Blood root ( aka Red Root) is a lymph detox agent. In my opinion tinctures of Red Root ?blood root are some of the best detox agents around. You might also want to give burbur a try as it is similar in action ,although it does seem to get to the brain better. It is impoortant to ddetoc the lymph as that is where fluids are held in the body, including many toxins that have built up.Dont forget to take a binder about 30-45 minutes later that help bind the toxins that are released jan OT: Blood Root for Lyme? Posted by: "thdrah" thdrah@... thdrah Date: Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:32 pm ((PDT))Has anyone tried Blood Root or Blood Root Salve for lyme or coinfections? A good friend is wanting us to try it for our daughter, but we aren't sure... Have not yet found any real evidence of it helping with lyme, and also wondering if there would be any adverse side effects of other meds. Although I have heard great things in treating cancer and other infections. Any info would be much appreciated. If it would help, we'd get going on it right away. Guest guest
Blood Root is not the same herb as Red Root -- check the botanical names of both. Yes, both plants have " red " roots, but the action of these plants are totally different and used for different things. Blood Root can be toxic if taken in too large a dose. It is mostly used for skin problems or sore throats in small dosages. Red Root is the lymph detox recommended by Buhner. Many people make errors with herbal medicines by thinking that nicknames are the same as the botanical names when the actions of these herbs are completely different. You need to research herbs based on their botanical names so you can be sure that you are using the proper herb...
