Guest guest
Hi Jeff,I've been following the PA situation, as it is demonstrating what could happen here. You have my deepest sympathies. The only thing we can do is spread the truth of what a short-term 'boom' for a few will do for long-term trashing of our pristine water supplies, our clean industries, our health. Our gov's live-in girlfriend is an energy lobbyist, I'm told, and I've seen the permanent lobby's office building in Albany. (we get to show up for half/hour meetings with politicians who will smile, say anything, and then we climb on our busses and go home with heavy hearts. Ours was the first town to ban fracking, but with home-rule in jeopardy, and the far-reaching effects of natural migrations throughout an ancient, unstable sea-bed, there's no guarantee that the toxins, radioactivity, and heavy metals won't end up contaminating ground water even a hundred miles away. Meanwhile, the 'sheeple' watch TV and buy the lies.Be well,Léna Hi Lena,We are having the same problem here in PA. Our wonderful governor has given his buddies in the nat gas industry carte blanche to destroy our environment. That is as long as they keep contributing. The radio is constantly airing these pro fracking commercial spots that are just ridiculous. We just don’t stand a chance against the amount of money they will spend.Take care,Jeff From: Lyme_and_Rife [mailto:Lyme_and_Rife ] On Behalf Of Lena GuyotSent: Wednesday, June 27, 2012 11:34 AMTo: Lyme_and_Rife Subject: Re: Re: OT: NutriBullets, ticks, sprain remedies Hi ,Presently, whatever energy I'm not spending on Lyme is spent of resisting the pressure of nat-gas hydro-fracking, which could destroy, poison and industrialize New York State's pristine waters and render our home unsellable. There's so much science now to show how truly toxic and ruinous fracking is, (not to mention all the disastrous effects fracking has already had on other states) but the nat-gas people have deep pockets and can flood the media with cosy ads about how safe and clean it is (NOT!) Lying has become the psyco-pathological virtue these days and money is its engine. I heard recently that over 80% of grads with PR training are being hired by this industry, and they've also recently hired Hill & Knowlton, the PR firm that convinced America for decades that smoking was safe.If you get q chance, watch Josh Fox's new movie 'The Sky is Pink'. Short, to the point and standing up to Cuomo, who seems to be ready to frack us. ('frack' has become my new 'f' word.) Suddenly, the villains in my novel pale in comparison and I'm thinking of replacing them with the real ones. Be well,Léna Great post Lena....had to print it )....when is that book coming? Hi Jim,I'm so very sorry (and scared) to hear about your tick population! And worse, the ticks on your person! This is serious, and not worth the risk; your being out there in the grasses, etc. Time to re-landscape if you can to keep the risk down or get guinea fowl to eat the ticks. Put paper tubes of cotton-balls saturated with permethrin or other tick-killing stuff. It will be taken up by the mice (which are worse vectors than deer) and their use of it as nesting material will help wipe out their ticks. I can't remember if your cats are indoor or outdoor, but indoor would be better, for obvious reasons. Sprocket is an indoor dog, now that we're home: happy to use his bin or hang out on our tick-free decks, but he doesn't get the chance to pick any up. (I also keep his white hair short, so any tick or flea can be spotted fast. As he's only 11.5 lbs, there's not a lot of dog to inspect. On our trip, I had a couple tick scares, finding one in my hair heading toward my scalp, another on my neck but not yet imbedded, and another that had tickled along my neck, causing me to brush it away, not knowing what it was, and then finding it later on my blouse, just as it fell onto my hand as I was typing. SO CREEPY! I squirm just thinking about it! I continue to hope that will a full body-load of Salt & C on board, if I did get a bite, the 'chetes wouldn't survive. Who knows? Perhaps I have been. The only creature who'd be attracted to my blood would be a porcupine (they crave salt). Each time this happens, I feel so menaced, so helpless, that it's really kept me from going outside much anymore. Our lovely big windows let the outside and its views in, and I avoid brushing against anything taller that a couple inches when I'm out. I'm in a constant state of dread/prayer for Bruce who still works outside (but is careful) and my grand-kids who are into sports, hiking, camping, horses, etc. There's only so much warning one can give before the words get tuned out. sigh. Meanwhile, the knee is so much better. Today I drove the car and with the help of a shopping cart to lean on, got some groceries. Bruce came as passenger, in case I couldn't make the knee work, but I was OK. The trick with the sprain was to apply a 50/50 mix of aloe and DMSO to the whole knee, every time I went to the loo. (otherwise, I'd forget) This made a remarkable change in the inflammation and pain. I highly recommend it. I also noticed that the flat jade-bead pillow cover seemed to amplify the effects of the DMSO. Jade is amazing stuff, and I know the Chinese have sworn by it for joint troubles for thousands of years. They were on to something. I got mine at yingyujade.com a couple years ago without really knowing how well it could work for acute injuries. I got it for my neck and it wasn't all that comfortable to sleep on, but for placing along my leg, it was cool, then warm, then wonderful, and I'm so glad I remembered to use it. The funny thing is that my achilles tendonitis has disappeared since this weekend, after my nursing it along since last October! I'll never know whether it was the Tart Cherry, the extra shark cartilage, the celery seed, the DMSO or the jade, but somehow, this weekend's extreme injury and its rememdies has made everything else settle down. Thanks for the link for the eggshell membrane. I should have some on hand, and maybe forward the info to a friend who's having knee difficulties. Please don't get bit again! And take care of Donna, tooI've been following the weather and you're really getting socked. Hope Debbie moves off soon. Be well and tick-free,Léna Hi Lena, I think you should do okay with the NutriBullet... As companies evolve, so do their products.. The MagicBullet was a good device, just a bit underpoweredI felt and it did not have a long life... The NutriBullet with a more powerful motor should see much longer service.. And it really does serve a good purpose, small and good for 1 - 2 drinks or smoothies.. I love your comparison of kids today working on IT, years ago it was on the farm!! How very true!! :-) Any yup, they do up and leave and poor old Maand Pa have to fill the void! But not so easy today with IT!! Ma and Pa taught the kids how to farm, today the kids teach Ma and Pa how to type on acomputer... :-) I am beating myself up, I hate to be so behind... and I have so much to do getting this new system reinstalled and then getting all the software backto where my files can open again!! And I know it is just getting new software that will allow me to open my files again, I think if I was not so Lymechallenged, this would not be an issue, before Lyme I was an ace on Mac computers, they got better, I got worse.. :-) But I will figure it out.. A lot of rain here 3 weeks ago, more than I had seen in Jax before... And while cleaning up a weeping willow three that fell down as my lagoonwater rose, a lot of tall fakahatachee grass all around that I planted years ago to keep the deer out of my property, ticks love this tall grass I got one of them tiny, little, very small things called a tick, attached right to me... I didn't know it was there, I just happened to scratch the area andI had a tick on my hand... I quickly looked and on my hip was a tick bite, this one did not itch like the one in 2011 did, so I decided totake a wait see... I applied both Lugol's and MMS to the bite site and took 200 mg of Doxy.. I felt since it didn't itch, it may not have been attachedtoo long. But a few days later it itched... So this time instead of hitting it hard with Doxy and MMS, I remained on just a lower dose of MMS, noDoxy... I've had some rough days, but slowly starting to improve... And if you are following the weather, you know a big tropical storm is ripping through Florida, well it got us also! Yup, it is now time to replace the roof.... So while sitting at the table, Donna and I were looking over bids and all of a sudden a tick is walking on my arm! I had been trimming upall of that fakahatchie grass a few hours earlier, this one was not attached... I threw it in the sink drain and away he went! Then on my hand, wasanother tick!! Not attached either, he met the same fate as his friend.. I have never seen so many ticks! Both migratory birds and deer are atthe lagoon daily, well nightly for the deer, so there is a never ending supply of ticks around here... That knee sounds rough.. I would apply DMSO often to help ease the pain.. And if it persists after a few weeks, consider Natural Eggshell Membrane (NEM),this is the only thing that finally gave my knees a lot of relief... Takes about 7 days to notice some relief, 30 days for full relief... You take only onecapsule daily.. http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU487/ItemDetail So, how was the turtle stew... :-) Did Bruce by any chance take pictures of your great adventure!! Some things sound funny, but there is nothing like seeingit!! You know there is a guy on TV he loves turtles, does every thing to save them... His show is CALL OF THE WILDMAN... http://animal.discovery.com/tv/call-of-the-wildman/ Am I to assume there may be a CALL OF THE WILDWOMAN soon!! Just like you, he likes to catch turtles! Tell Bruce to calm down, one day he will think back about what he saw and I am sure he will have a good laugh! I am!! Get well from you knee injury... Guest guest
Hi Lena,You would hope that Cuomo would stand up to the pressure but having a lobbyist for his girlfriend is not a great sign. At one time I lived in upstate NY and I would hate to see it happen there, but like you said your town can ban it but the effects are far reaching.Keep fighting,Jeff From: Lyme_and_Rife [mailto:Lyme_and_Rife ] On Behalf Of Lena GuyotSent: Wednesday, June 27, 2012 8:19 PMTo: Lyme_and_Rife Subject: Re: Re: OT: NutriBullets, ticks, sprain remedies, fracking Hi Jeff,I've been following the PA situation, as it is demonstrating what could happen here.
