Guest guest
Crew, I'm not sure where many of you live. Hard for me to keep it straight who lives where. Lana, why don't you tell your drs that you don't want other people standing around and staring at " the oddity " ? I can empathize with how you feel abt being on display. Last time I knew that was what was planned, I said, " NO. " Just as Reagan said, JUST SAY NO. Say it again and again if you have to, bec ea dr needs to know how you feel about it. I'm going to buy a stove today and called yesterday to say the price had to be lower before I'd buy. The manager said, " OK, we'll sit down and negotiate the price. SO JUST SAY NO! If you state your position up front, usually it makes a big difference. Nobody will speak up about it unless you do, I've found. , it's amazing how we adjust to slowly changing bodies, and don't recognize that there's a difference from before. My son-in-law has perfect vision and can gaze way down the street and recognize a friend. Whereas I look down the street from the same distance, and I can't tell whether it's a person or a mailbox. An opthalmologist said to me a long time ago that he found it amazing how many people are half blind and don't know it! I see less well now than at THAT time, but still my vision seems normal to me. Crew, I'm glad to see members are posting more abt NF2-related subjects. A little fun gives a break, but too much of gaety short-changes the members who joined to learn more abt how to live with NF2.
