Guest guest
I don't know about you but work for me is a significant cause of my stress. They just work me too hard with little mercy. I live in a society that is all about work and no love. But could this work ethic be backfinring: Germany lose billions of Euros every year due to stress, and millions of people around the world are addicted to pain killing drugs, or drink too much alcohol, like me. If billions are being lost every year than why not just redice the hourly week to 30 to 35 hours and increase holdays to 7 to 8 weeks a year. A good family life and a good social life significanly reduces stress and increases happininess. Pie high you might think but with all this technology we have we can easily afford it. We've been conned. Greed is not good, not for most of us anyway. We don't need billionares. Possible link between stress and disease Stress increases the risk of physical or mental illness. The stress-related costs in Germany alone amount to many billions of Euros every year. In recent years, there have been indications that epigenetic processes are involved in the development of various chronic diseases such as cancer or depression. "Epigenetic changes may well be an important link between stress and chronic diseases" says Prof. Meinlschmidt, Head of the Research Department of Psychobiology, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at the LWL University Hospital. http://www.biosciencetechnology.com/News/2012/08/Acute-Stress-Alters-Control-of-Gene-Activity/ Pill Popping Nation?
