Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My five year old son did one year with Dr. G on Famvir and now we are 50 days into Valtrex. He has looked terrible (pale and dark circles) for most of the 50 days and doesn't seem to be pulling out of it. At Dr. G's suggestion we have gone to the pediatrician and audiologist who find nothing wrong. It could be this time of year, but has anyone else experienced die off longer than 50 days? I expected Valtrex to be tough on him since it's the best anti-viral for CMV which has been climbing though we were on Famvir for the last year and had gotten to 6.8 before we started Valtrex. Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else had a long adjustment period to this. Also, we use the generic Valtrex which I was thrilled about since it doesn't have the blue coating. Could there be a difference from the real thing to the generic? I wish Dr G was closer and we could just go for an office visit! Thanks!
