Guest guest
, You can use the homeopathic remedy Rhus Tox for any of the herpes symplex viruses as soon as you feel them heading your way. I can head an outbreak off before it surfaces. good luck, Kathleen > > I have suffered from cold sores most my life and fear every time I > get one of passing it onto my children. It took 8 months, but the herpes is entirely gone now. At first, the lysine did tend to *increase* the symptoms, because it was pulling the virus out of my son's brain, causing " typical herpes symptoms " on the way out. It also tended to cause a lot of yeast overgrowth, so watch for that. Some cold sores were caused by selenium deficiency also. > Can I treat both yeast and herpes at same time or would it be best to > do one before other? Start with yeast, because herpes die off will cause a lot of yeast, and you need to know what works to control the yeast before you start addressing the herpes. Then, you will most likely have to address both at the same time. >>Is the Lysine a supplement you keeping adding > on strength to or just length of time? The amount in a multi would not have been nearly sufficient here. Dana
Guest guest
Dana, I get a massive cold sore on my lip in the summer when I hit the beach. Would treating with high doses of Lysine prevent this from happening? Guest guest
Hi Dana Do you have some dosing guidelines for using lysine to eliminate herpes? I've heard of people also using Valtrex alongside the lysine to help suppress the outbreaks that seem to come along with die off. I find that OLE gives my dau an outbreak. Thanks

Guest guest
Always make sure to cover your lips with SPF 30 or Zinc before you go out in the sun for any length of time. The sun can trigger an outbreak too. Sharon > > Your story is my story...have suffered from these terribly since I was 3 years old!!! > Sometimes I have had a complete mustache of blisters! Guest guest
Hi I am new to this group and would like some advice. My son has just had some test results back from our Doctor, and it is showing that he is positive to Hepres 1 our Dr said it was a high reading of 18 Is this a high reading? what should it be and is it treatable? Thanks very much for your help. God Bless Sophie
Guest guest
Hey Sophie, Yes, HSV1 is treatable with Valtrex. You do want your doctor to treat at a 'treatment dose', not a 'supressive dose'. It should be taken 3 times a day, but I don't know the mg/kg dose. You need at least a year long committment to an antiviral prescription, and I wouldn't start it until I had that committment. Guest guest
Hi Thank you very much for responding. Can you tell me, is the result of 18 high for a child of 3.5? my doctor believes this virus could be a key issue to his delayed speech and communication? could this be possible? Also when you say a " treatment dose " what does this mean? my Dr suggested 250mg twice a day, does that sound correct>? Thanks again. Sophie > > Hey Sophie, > Yes, HSV1 is treatable with Valtrex. Guest guest
I can't really tell you about the levels, and they aren't necessarily important simply because they vary so much. But yes, definitely, with the history of (aka autism), you can pretty much count on the immune dysfunction associated with viruses or vice versa to be affecting language delays.  Absolutely. But treatment with antivirals does take time. You don't always see a huge leap right away, but your child can be absorbing new language long before they start showing it. That was our experience. When my son's speech did start progressing, it did it far faster than the typical rate. Even then, that doesn't happen for everyone - but most often it does. I don't remember which antiviral you said, but if it's Valtrex, no - 2 times a day is not enough. It has too short a half-life according to Dr G and needs to be given 3 times per day. He never told me how the dose is calculated but I do know the highest recommended treatment level is the best. If it's based on mg/kg, I don't know what that is but a doctor should. (I'm not capable of giving that kind of advice - I'm just quoting what I remember Dr G saying way back because he believed it to be so critical that people not be under-dosed on antivirals, that ultimately it could do more harm than good if it stirs up a virus without fully suppressing it. Even worse, you're at higher risk of resistance, and there are very few antivirals acceptable for use in kids right now, so we try to avoid that. Same with antifungals - I know the dose for diflucan is 5mg/kg instead of the usual 3mg/kg (and yes there's research on resistance and safety in neonates to back that up if a doctor balks at that). Guest guest
Thank you so much for responding to my post. I will def discuss the dosage of Valtrex to my Dr. My son is currently taking biocidin which was prescribed by my doctor, he has 3 drops a day,but it seems such a little dosage are you aware of biocidin? Thanks again Sophie > > > > Hey Sophie, > > Yes, HSV1 is treatable with Valtrex.
