Guest guest
Kathi, Send an update to the office asking what you should do. It is awful when the sleeping thing happens, we get so tired and can't deal well. Sometimes with the introduction of new meds this would happen temporarily for . Also if you are giving an SSRI make sure the office knows when you are giving it. Ask them if it should be a morning or evening thing. And sometimes as they are getting better the world becomes an exciting place and they don't want to miss a thing. Hang in there, this will pass. Guest guest
Thanks Marcia! I am telling them again in this week's update. He isn't on an SSRI right now. Just doing Valtrex and he wanted Liam on Claritin, but I told Dr. G it may be keeping him up and/or giving him headaches as head banging/hitting came back (this kills my heart, so I gotta figure it out). He was sick and on Benedryl, but I can't continue that long-term b/c it blocks both Histamine 1 and 2, and I can't do that b/c he has had major gut issues and that messes up his PH (he was a reflux/projectile vomit kiddo for first 13 months of life) and it took me forever to get him off Zantac and Prevacid. We also took him off of LDN, so I think that he's also getting up in the middle of the night again b/c of that, which it fixed-only thing that kept him sleeping through the night;( Claritin, I think is giving him headaches (trying to figure out if it's that or the nasocort) and Dr. G said it could keep him up, we switched to the am and he has aggressive behavior and was miserable, they told me to switch back to night or to Zyrtec. I have read SO MUCH negative stuff about Zyrtec, that I don't want to go there. Last year he started with major env allergies (at age 4, which is when the ENT and allergist told me it starts). So, we're into March and this is when it starts. I need an antihistamine on board. ANYONE have any other ideas??? I really would love to know why this h1 blockers cause aggression. Sometimes I think it's the crap they put in them, especially soy lecithin, for my boy.
