Guest guest
Hello all, My son (who has a diagnosis of autism and is non-verbal) will be a new patient in Dr. Goldberg's practice. Any tips / advice for the first (or any) appointments?
Guest guest
The first appointment can last a few hours. He has some toys in his office, and space for your child(ren) to play, but you might want to bring some of their favorites. There are some restaurants nearby, but some snacks might be helpful. Ask if you can tape what he says.it will be a lot. Having more than 1 adult can be helpful.that way you can both listen and 1 can take the child(ren) outside for a bit if being in the office becomes too much. We have to drive 2+ hours so I usually have a portable DVD player and it came in handy during the office visits to entertain the kids a few times.
