Hi Everyone, it has been so long since I've written! I'm in need of

a little support, and I always know where to come :)

The past 5 months have gone really well for me pain wise (May-

September I would say) The radio frequency procedures in addition to

taking the dilaudid twice a day seemed like a very good management

program. I was able to teach dance in barely any pain at all, with

very few flareups or breakthrough pain.

The pain started returning slightly around the same time I chose to

try and go off the dilaudid..not only did I feel very dependent on it,

but I wanted to see how well the RFs alone would decrease my pain. My

doctor thought it was a great idea, especially since I'm only 25. It

was a bit rocky, but I am off all pain medications for now. I received an RF 1

week ago. My pain is less often, but in the evening it is still pretty bad and

returns. Where as last time the procedure took away nearly all of my pain most

of the time.

I have my follow up with my pain management doctor (who is just

wonderful) I need to ask him if the pain that is still there was the

remaining pain that was taken away by the doses of dilaudid I was

taking, and thats why the pain relief was so good for those 5 months?

Maybe I'll only need breakthrough pain meds? I just want to feel like

a did a few months ago, and of course am a bit nervous if these RF's

start to work less and less.

I can only imagine But, he is referring me to a surgeon that might be able to

evaluate me for removal of the nerve entrapement in my abdominal wall-so time

will tell.

So sorry for that being so long, but I wanted to get that all off of

my chest and I know you all dont mind reading once in a while. I hope

everyone here is doing the best they possibly can be. Hopefully some

days you feel better than the last. I think of you all often, lots of

hugs

Hi ,

I am glad those medications were helping you with your pain. What are " RF's " ?

Whatever they are, I hope they were as well, if not better than the Dilaudid

did. I hope the surgeon can help to remove the nerve entrapment. What is a

nerve entrapment for? Big hugs to you and prayers being said for you!

Love,

Becky in SD
