Our son is still taking LDN. When we started LDN it changed our sons life... he

was screaming for hours every day, sick all the time, just looked tired and

couldn't handle anything. Dr. G wants us to get off the LDN... we are trying to

raise the amount of SSRI's so that they will sort of take the place of what the

LDN is doing. He is on 1/2 paxil per day. We are trying to take out the LDN,

but I am seeing his mood start to become a problem again... he just can't handle

things, and he looks tired ... just not himself. Has anyone else had such great

success on LDN and tried to get their child off of it. What were others

experiences.

Apparently the reason he doesn't want our son on LDN, is that they don't really

know what it might do to a childs developing brain, which I agree with... but if

my child slips back to where he can't handle things... well lets just say that

when we started it... it was life changing for our son, it's pretty difficult to

take out.

Any way just looking for advice from others who have been here before us, who

maybe saw great gains with LDN, but were able to get off it successfully, or

not... any insight would be helpful.

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) is a homeopathic dose of an opiate receptor blocker

(at regular dosing it is used for drug addicts to block opiate effects)... the

homiopathic dose is just enough to make the body produce more endorphins to try

to counteract the block... apparently these raised endorphins help regulate the

immune system as well... though I don't know if we've seen that (I can say that

our son used to get sick often, and worse than other kids seemed to... and since

he started taking it he might be sick more often, but doesn't seem to get the

high fevers, or long drawn out sicknesses as often)

Thanks
