Those who were talking about handicapped stickers who get strange looks from people because we otherwise look " ok " even though our pain could be so bad we'd rather be at home on a heating pad, but things have to get done and we all don't have family to lean on. We could all wear T-shirts saying advocate for the pain foundation! I just wanted to say, we had a lot of patients that were stero-typed at immediate glance when I worked in the pain clinic. If a woman was well dressed and had a $500.00 purse, or the painter who drove from out of town who fits your physical discription. My doctor I worked with closely depended some on what the nurses thought, since we spent more time in the room than the doctor, or just asked our opinion on a good day. But they still took them as patients as long as they had pharmacy records (printouts) and medical records (take them with you-even if they don't ask)! It shows you are being honest and seeking help not a " fix " . My pain management doctor I go to now, is wonderful. She changes my meds each month until we find the right combination, and I of course knew how to behave my first visit and gain trust between us. I took pharmacy records for the past year, and had all my surgery medical records faxed over before the day of my appointment, my first day there my records already weighed in close to ten pounds-how could I not need help with all that documentation! I even save my old Rx bottles, I took them with me my first visit, and I take my current meds each time I go. I think you need to call around and find another doctor, even a phyciatrist to help coping with the pain and the problems finding a doctor to help manage it. Some even help with other meds, that could also help your pain, or sleep. Don't give up, there is one out there for you, just be really prepared since you have the perception of looking fine, when pain is invisable, also a diary like some were discussing earlier in the week. Good luck. Janet (SC)

Thank You,Buzzy Hi, sure I will send you a private email with their information. I am from NC too. I know doctor's in Fayetteville (Fort Bragg) too. I worked in the hospital there (Cape Fear Valley Medical Center). I think Greensboro is (?) 2-3 hours from Fayetteville. But good side to having a doctor at the beach is getting to stay over night and seeing the ocean! Also you'd be more than welcome to stay here too, we have an extra bedroom and are off the intercoastal waterway. But the doctor's here are far better than the ones I worked with and saw in NC (Fayetteville). I will send out the email later on this afternoon. Thanks Janet (SC)
