Mouth sore after being on valtrex

Our son started Valtrex earlier this month at a very low dose (250mg once

per day) and today showed me a white sore in his mouth. Can anyone interpret

this and/or give Dr. G's information on sores after viral treatment. Is this

a good sign? What type of HHV virus could this be? His last blood sample

showed no sign of HHV6.. Any comments/suggestions are welcome! Thank you.
