Guest guest
ok tracy... what do i eat all day.... first off, it might do you good to 'invest' in getting a type of protein that can be 'grabbed' at times when you feel so empty and need something NUTRITIOUS ... *fast*... I did this by using spirulina/and other greens. I take it in water... or sometimes i will capsulize it and take a bunch. This for ME is vital ... if I don't have this at various times of the day - things would be a LOT harder. Some days I take it between meals maybe 3 x ?? BIG help... ok,,, since i've dumped coffees/teas... when I get up in the a.m. I pick a lemon (we have a 1/2 dead tree - but its still got some on it) and I juice it and have about 1/2 of it in hot pure water. I will drink that first thing. I also use plain good yogurt - that has all the cultures, etc. (*note - this is controversial - some candida teachers believe that you should not have any yogurt and call it 'fermented') My husband always also has kombucha tea brewing (which IS fermented) and I'm undecided on this one - if anyone out there might know if this causes more candida - would like to know - people on the web site for kombucha say its safe,,,, but???? Ok... usually for lunch I will have a couple boiled eggs... with some vegies.... rinsed tuna with my own homemade mayonnaise with some vegies... or lately i've been doing chopped up vegies with turkey or chicken meat in a stir fry type thing. At first i couldn't figure out what kind of flavoring to try and I stumbled upon some great stuff at the health food store. Its made from soy but is not fermented and there is no vinegar or salts or anything else in it... its called " Bragg Liquid Aminos " and it looks like soy sauce but is in a different container. Ingred's says: " bragg's formulated vegetable protein from pure healthy sybeans and purified water only. Contains no preservatives, no coloring agents, no alcohol, no additives, and no chemicals. This product is kosher certified " . Anyway - this would help you because you can put this stuff on almost anything and it tastes great. Even my fussy teenagers will eat this stir fry i make with this stuff. Supper is usually fish of some sort.... sometimes I make my own beans (not refried, and no cheese with) ... Avocados are ok for us..... and I find that I can smush some of that up and that is just delicious.... we can also have some red meats occasionally.... some people find having a steak now and then is not too bad - and salads are fine - just make your own dressings. I drink at least 1/2 gallon of pure water a day ... I find this to be extremely important.... Juicing foods is EXCELLENT too - we like to make carrot/celery/cucumber juice... I don't really know what else to say - i've had a couple days where i ate really DUMB and paid for it big time.... it seems like my pain in my body with my fibromyalgia/cfs/mps really is exacerbated by certain foods - most of them not allowed on the candida diet... I understand that later on when we are doing better, we can have more on our diet than in the early weeks... Good luck,,,, my heart is with you.... it can be very hard to do this. wendy P.S. i gave a site a little while ago on here that has some great recipes....did you see it? what to do Hi everyone I am getting to the point with this diet, that something has to change or I modify it somehow. Before commencing this diet - I felt well - apart from the obvious itching. Lots of energy, quite enjoyed life. Now, I am a b.... to live with, have no energy, feel horrible and cannot function well at all. As I have 3 small kids, I cannot lie around all day waiting to get better. It feels like my blood sugars are unstable. I am taking chromium, but it's not doing much. So I was wondering - what do you guys eat all day. Can you tell me what YOU eat, not what the diet books say. Should I eat more protein, or more carbs to stabilise the sugars? I just cannot go on like this. I honestly don't think its die off. I don't ache, I don't feel fluish, I just fee weak and lifeless all the time. I work outside the home for a few hours a week too, and its hard enough work, without feel like this. What do you experts think I should do? I don't want to go off the diet, but I need ENERGY. Also, has anyone found with Caprilic Acid, that It burns your tummy, and repeats on you? Guest guest
some other things have come to mind; i make a oatmeal/9 grain cereal in the a.m. and I seem to be alright with that... have a cup or two of that with nothing on it - just like it is - it has good flavor... I eat apples... I sometimes use plain unsweetened soy milk to have a protein shake in.... i'm sure more will come to my fogged brain.... wendy what to do Hi everyone I am getting to the point with this diet, that something has to change or I modify it somehow. Guest guest
Hi , If you want to also lose weight I recommend the anti-yeast low carb diet. I use to have blood sugar lows and highs and this has stabilized my blood sugars very well. Laurie K. Guest guest
Nick, When I started the diet I was really strict. It was this diet that helped me weed out food sensitivities. Maybe that is what is making you feel very drained. My energy levels went up and then down. Die-off=bad and no die-off=better days. There are many foods listed as candida feeders. Nuts are one of them. But when I ate them I did not get any symptoms of attack. So nuts are in my diet. This is an example you may find for yourself. If a food isn't a threat, then eat. Not every ones fungi overgrowth reacts the same. I would look into the fact that maybe you have low blood sugar. This usually has more symptoms than just feeling drained, but everyone is different. One product out there that is good for stimulating energy is "Astragalus" I hope I spelled it right. It is a mushroom and maybe some candida suffers cannot tolerate this herb. But I took it and it gave me enough stimulation to get through a half of days work. For me, I took 2 tablets. If I needed more energy then in 4 hours I took 2 more. But be careful, more isn't better with this herb. Snack bites: When I would pack my lunch for work I took an apple and some pretzels. I took a bite of apple and then popped a pretzel in my mouth and chewed it together and BANG! Taste of Apple Pie!!! I got a kick out of trying to make my food taste like the food I couldn't eat! Have Fun. LIZ what to do Hi everyone I am getting to the point with this diet, that something has to change or I modify it somehow. Guest guest
, thanks. Hello everyone. Even though I have numerous places to get recipes, I tend not to ever get the time to make any of them. I carry copies of them in my satchel thinking I'll sort thru them and shop and make them up, but never do. I work full time, have a pet and mate, and do the usual candida regime most of us do. So, THANK YOU for the day-to-day example. I'd like to see more of this from this group. For myself: * In the morning I still drink coffee (1-2 cups) w/cream once or twice a week; * meat or eggs or occasional spelt or rye toast for breakfast; * a low carb bar or a few carob chips for a.m. snack (my work is very intense and energy demanding and I consider that if I am NOT eating sugar or guzzling caffeine or snacking on anything super high in carbs - that I am doing GREAT! (I have given myself permission to have perhaps slightly lower dietary expectations for now until I adjust to the low carb thing); * I eat at a Fresh Fields Food Store for lunch everyday - it's organic and I usually have a combination of raw greens, lightly steamed broccoli and cauliflower or other veggie dish like ratatouille (sp?), chicken or turkey or curry lentil patty, and olive oil - NOTE: I eat my meals w/chop sticks - they give me something to focus on ( I tend to be hyper and eat too fast), help me to slow down and actually see and smell my food, and there's some sort of aesthetic thing that just feels good about it; * for afternoon snack, same as a.m. or maybe celery or cuke pieces, plain roasted soy beans, raw almonds or pumpkin seeds, or hummus; * I drink a weak black tea at work when I need a lift or are craving coffee usually and then herb tea in the afternoon and LOTS of filtered water; * Dinner usually consists of salad or steamed veggies w/oil (I work til 8pm so some nights I don't eat at all) or plain yogurt w/carob or stevia or even plain ole' cocoa powder f I feel the urge for sweet. Hope this helps the cause. Thanks for all the great information. Cheers, Magi

Guest guest
I'm the same as you on the weight issue... i found this on a site regarding candida and this is what he said about 'over thinness' with this illness: " The hypoadrenal patient frequently has a poor appetite (anorexia), and it is often difficult to get him to eat any but minuscule amounts. In these patients, it is all the more important that every mouthful of food be as nutritious and as non-stressful as possible--that is, free as possible from chemical contamination. All chemical compounds not normal to the body place stresses on its adaptive apparatus, of which the adrenal is a prime factor. It is usually important to have these patients eat small amounts frequently. Gradually as the treatment progresses, the anorexia will abate. In time, they may develop such ravenous appetites that you end up having to control what you took great pains to stimulate in the early stages of care. Experience has demonstrated that one of the first functions to weaken in functional hypoadrenalism is the digestion. Therefore it may be necessary to offer digestive aids to these patients to help them utilize the foods they ingest. It may be well to use some of the more advanced diagnostic procedures such as Complete Stool Analysis, Heidelberg pH digestive test and other hi-tech procedures to determine exactly what the individual patient requires in the way of help with his digestion and assimilation. With poor digestion and assimilation these patients often exhibit multiple allergies due to incompletely digested proteins entering the blood stream. In many of our patients this has advanced to the degree that they are known as Universal Reactors, that is, someone who reacts to everything. In these patients the physician must not only test for the digestive weaknesses but also for incomplete assimilation (Leaky Gut Syndrome). Once our patient has been tested for digestive and assimilation imbalances and placed on a proper diet, specific supplementation for supporting the adrenal gland can be begun. Now that we have the ASI test we are able to individualize all such remedies. What each individual requires depends to great degree where he or she is in the progression of this malady according to the chart of Dr. Selye. Those remedies that would be indicated in the exhaustive stage would not be best in the resistive stage and vice versa. In the exhaustive stage we usually suggest a supplement containing vitamin C, calcium pantothenate, vitamin B6, and raw adrenal and spleen substances. These last compounds--which we believe to be absolutely vital to proper adrenal regeneration in the exhaustive stage--are made by desiccating bovine adrenal gland at below body temperature, so as not to destroy any of the delicate RNA and DNA factors necessary to promote a rapid recovery. " here now: i have always thought it was my thyroid - then i found another site with a chart on adrenals and thyroid and comparing how you are on them and I KEPT coming up adrenals... plus i'm very thin and would rather not have to eat if i had a choice. This is not for reasons that we see on television - about being 'thin' ... this is because i truly have no desire to eat - i'm 42 - and not interested in " looking like a movie star " anyway (even if I *could* lol) ... but i'm treating my adrenals... do you want me to find that site where you compare thyroid symptoms with adrenals.... ???? wendy From: Nick Grant <nwgrant@...> candidiasis <candidiasis > Date: Friday, February 23, 2001 5:09 AM Subject: Re: what to do If I lose any more weight I won't be visible! Guest guest
- for people like us we NEED help with absorption and enzymes.... so I take enzymes with every meal - do you do this?? i think it would help you to take food enzymes throughout the whole day - and to drink LOTS of pure water. Also a really good probiotic - i take one with 12 different strains (each having billions) and it has helped with GI tract and digestion immensely as well.... just a thought. wendy Re: what to do If I lose any more weight I won't be visible! Guest guest
, I was on that diet for 2 years while taking Nystatin. By the last 6 months I was moving lower than the size 10 that I was in high school. I wasn't experiencing any die- off symptoms and I told the doctor that I didn't think that the Nystatin is working anymore. I was always hungry and for being 5 foot 6 inches, dropping under a size 10 made me not only look unhealthy but feel unhealthy. So I began eating allot of what I wanted and more of what I wanted. Sugar being the exception, and anything that contained sugar. But nothing that I had a sensitivity to. I am not here to argue about the actual weight to height and weather it is or isn't a measure to rule your health by. The doctors told me many times that for my height I should weigh about 115-125 pounds. I feel and look more healthier at 135-145 pounds. Since my diet and the medicine did all it could for me at the time, I dropped the strictness of the diet. I follow the diet during times of my PMS when I know these things are busy feeding. This is why I am now looking into other methods to keep yeast at bay. Maybe you could eat in cycles. More feeding after you cycle and strict adherence to the diet the 2 weeks before your cycle. Just a suggestion, LIZ Re: what to do > Hi , > If you want to also lose weight I recommend the anti-yeast low carb diet. Guest guest
, I went through this feeling of being weak and low blood sugars, etc. when I went/go through die-off. The first few times I was on the diet it was so bad I felt like I was going to pass out. It didn't let up for weeks. Every time, I went off the diet because of that feeling. This time (I started the diet the last time in mid December), I am doing the diet alone for nearly 12 weeks without supplements. The die-off was slow and steady, but not intolerable. I understand what you're going through. I have two jobs and am a single mother. I don't have the time to feel sick and weak. That's why I'm doing this slow. I will start supplements this week, but I am doing those slow, too. I don't care if it takes me 3 years to get through the program and kill off the yeast before I can have sugar again. Some people want to do it in 3 months and they experience die-off that is nearly intolerable. The faster you do the diet and supplements, the stronger the die-off. You need to decide how fast is too fast for your body. As far as what I eat? When I want something sweet, I eat fruit...and a lot of it. Fruit does not bother me at all. I have a recipe for a quinoa-applesauce bread that is pretty good. I eat wheat and potatoes, too (in limited amounts). So, sometimes for lunch I have a huge salad and fruit. Other times, I eat a bowl of chili. When I need something fast, I go through Mc's or 's drive-thru and order the grilled chicken sandwich. I scrape off the sauce and throw away the bread and just eat the chicken...and I eat the french fries...lots of them...LOL. For dinner, I usually make hamburgers. ~ In a message dated 2/21/01 6:32:22 PM Central Standard Time, nwgrant@... writes: Hi everyone I am getting to the point with this diet, that something has to change or I modify it somehow. Could I be intolerant to it I wonder? I just want to feel how I used to, without the itch. HELP Love .
