I am in for a lifetime of pain and many other symptoms unless they come up with a cure. When I read your posts, it sounds like some of you may have this. It is rare, and most doctors are unaware of it. If you type Dercum's Disease into any search engine you can find out more about it, and there is a yahoo group for this as well. Many are diagnosed with fibro who actually have Dercum's. In my case, I have thousands of painful fatty lumps on my body. They are under the surface and increasing by the day. It also makes me exhausted, unable to sleep, depressed, I have stenosis in my back, major sciatica pain, in addition to a shattered knee which has been replaced twice but will never be right. I am currently on 20mg of oxycodone 3x a day with 5mg oxycodone as break though. In addition, I have flexeril for muscle spasms, reglan for nausea, atarax for itchiness, provigil so I can stay awake during the day, and cymbalta for depression. The itchiness happens a lot to me, and it drives me nuts. I appreciate this group, and wanted to share about Dercum's in case it could help someone. Knowing what I have gave me a kind of peace of mind, all though knowing this is forever is distressing. Anyway, happy new year, and keep your spirits up.
