Guest guest
We have AETNA and it covered the office visit, but not telephone consults. Check with your carrier to see if they cover spect scans and what diagnostic code you would need. BTW Dr G doesnt require spect scans fir all patients. Best. Guest guest
Hi. We have aetna and did the spect scan with Dr g and they billed our insurance. So they paid 80% of 1,800 for the scan. The radiology center is in net work with aetna. Horalia. On Mon Mar 21st, 2011 3:31 PM EDT wrote: >We have AETNA and it covered the office visit, but not telephone consults. Guest guest
I don't know if anyone knows this, but just out of curiosity, what are some reasons that Dr. Goldberg would request that a child have a spect scan? I know he doesn't do it for all of his patients, but why some and not others? Anyone know? ________________________________ From: Horalia Holmes <horaliaholmes@...> nids Sent: Mon, March 21, 2011 3:13:02 PM Subject: Re: Switching gears to NID's  Hi. Guest guest
If your Aetna is a HMO it may not have benefits for out of the area providers unless it is an emergency.  It your Aetna policy is a PPO and Dr G and the Spect scan facility and radiologist are in network then it would possibly pay benefits.  > >> Hello Everyone, >> >> I just joined this forum and also belong to the " MB12Valtrex " & >> " Autism Treatment " forums. Guest guest
I need to chime in here as well. We have Aetna PPO in California, and requested a pre-determination for a SPECT. Basically what that means, is that Aetna will review the procedure and tell you BEFORE you get it done if they will cover it. Unfortunately, we got the letter last week saying it was denied. I would like to know how/when Horalia got the scan done. According to Huntington Radiology, the insurance companies are getting harder and harder to deal with/pay for this scan (even ones that were originally paying). Guest guest
I am sure there are more reasons than this but I think one reason he wants scans is if the child has done HBOT in the past.

Guest guest
Aetna has their clinical policy bulletins online which is a great resource in helping get things covered. They give you the ICD-9 codes that will be covered if selection criteria is met: Goto http://www.aetna.com/healthcare-professionals/policies-guidelines/clinical_p olicy_bulletins.html Click on Medical CPBs  accept the legal terms Put in SPECT, click on the first one and there you go, the rationale on when they are covered along with the ICD-9 codes Worked wonders for me when I had Aetna. Guest guest
Tammy, Someone asked when does Dr G require a NeuroSPECT. I answered this: Children who have done HBOT or chelation are the ones he wants a scan on. He's worried about the permanent damage from these treatments. It is hard to keep up isn't it. Guest guest
Kathy, Not to worry about brain damage. We are all just trying to do the best for our kids and the desperation sometimes makes us try things. There is no advantage in guilt. Just move on and do the best you can with the things you can control. The brain is an amazing and confusing thing. I have talked to so many who went down this road, but are now doing fine. Guest guest
, I'm not sure that the NeuroSPECT actually changes the treatment Dr G does so I would tell him it is not covered and you can't afford it. Anyway, it is a hard test for our kids to do. Best, Marcia
Guest guest
I made the switch from DAN to and haven't regretted it. It made more sense to me and seemed to match what was going on with my son better. He looked/acted sick, he couldn't fight off sicknesses, he always regressed after a big sickness... Dr. G takes some insurance, not ours... we pay up front and submit our claims to insurance (because he is out of network our insurance covers 70%... and most of labs... not perfect, but we are finding it substantially cheaper than DAN was because medication is covered). Call their office to find the cost of first visit. He is incredibly thourough, and I found the first visit invaluable. He then will do phone consults once a month if you are out of state, and you can get labs done through a local lab. We made gains just by stopping most supplements that we were on from DAN protocol. We have not done the SPECT scan yet due to cost, etc. he is still treating our son without it. We will do it at some point.

Guest guest
Because children with a weakened immune system can be harmed by chelation. Chelation can further strain the immune system. Basically Dr. G feels that if the immune system is not first fixed the child will never get better.  From: Dean <dvsdean@...> Subject: Re: Switching gears to NID's Date: Tuesday, 22 March, 2011, 14:23  We are starting . Guest guest
I am a lurker on this group and find it very interesting... Currently we are doing sequential homeopathy and have been doing so for the past 4 years. I would love to say that it has help my son, but after all this time I was hoping to be further along then we are. My son is 9 and still non verbal. is completely different, and it really has me going back and forth on my decision to change coarse at this time. Is there anyone on this group that switched from homeopathy to and what has your results been? Also wondering if anyone knows what percentage of recovery the protocol has? TIA Dana
Guest guest
Kathy, Don't worry. Dr. G had mentioned that if you continue to do these treatments over a very long span of time you encounter issues. I'm not sure I'd say damage, more brain agitation that needs to cool off. Don't worry! My son did it all and he's doing great on the protocol! jackie > > > > Children who have done HBOT or chelation are the ones he wants a scan on. > > He's worried about the permanent damage from these treatments. > > > > Marcia > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
We tried a homeopathic regimen and we saw no change in his behavior or lab results. Guest guest
Dana, I & #39;m new to NIDs to, and have been doing DAN protocol with vitamins, B12 shots you name it etc and have been going at a turtle pace but I will tell you this, that majority of the parents that claim there children are recovered all have one thing in common...Dr Goldberg as their childs Doctor. I haven & #39;t read about no other Dr with such a high success rate... in any of the forums I lurk, as you, into. I get the impression that he finds the root of the problem, prescribes only what & #39;s necessary to attack the problem and does tideous monitoring which is excellent I find when concerns my Childs safety.
