Guest guest
Check the archives. We had a big discussion on this just a few months ago. Somebody (sorry can't remember who!) very helpfully listed all the ingredients and we had a comparison of several brands. Very interesting and informative. :-) Kathy in VA --------- Re: vitamins Kathi~ I take the Women's One-A-Day. I get a big jar at costco but I'd imagine you could get them at any grocer/drugstore. Guest guest
Hi Kathi, I tried to lay the bottle of One Source on the copy machine, but that didn't work. Darn the round bottle!! There is a phone number on the bottle for information. Perhaps they can fax or email you the Supplement Fact. The number is 1-866-293-5835. Be well, Felice Re: vitamins Kathi~ I take the Women's One-A-Day. I get a big jar at costco but I'd imagine you could get them at any grocer/drugstore. Guest guest
I dont think anything happened to the One Source vitamins that Dr R suggests we take. They are to big for me to swallow, so I have found something that closely compares to the One source and I take those. The woman asking this question does not shop at Walmart, so she was asking if there were any good alternatives. in Fla Re: vitamins Kathy, I use the Target brand multi vitamin, very cheap and very close to the OneSource label. in Fla Sept 1, 2005 424/384.5/209 hi/preop/now 5 ft 8 inches tall 8 ft bypass 43 years old ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
Hi Kathi, I've asked a few different bariatric people what they take for vitamens as I have a really hard time taking enough of them and getting the big pills down. I tried the samples called Optisource from Novartis, they are chewables and have minerals as well. I like these the best so far. You can order from Wallgreen's on line and they have free shipping. Guest guest
CVS brand multis, with or without iron, are about the size of an aspirin. much easier to take than 'horse pills'. after seeing these it makes me wonder how much filler is in other vitamin brands??? Guest guest
Sondra, Do you now what the iron levels are in the chewables? I thought the problem with chewables and liquids was that they didn't contain enough iron, so you might need to supplement that. in NC Sondra Creed <screed2ski@...> wrote: Hi Kathi, I've asked a few different bariatric people what they take for vitamens as I have a really hard time taking enough of them and getting the big pills down. Guest guest
Cara I suggest you stop tenderfooting this process. Forget that you know it's " yucky " . Hold your kid down if necessary - but it won't be necessary, you'll see. Don't make a big deal about it and she won't either. Also, The pills are more stable than the liquid. I suggest the pills only. If you're not seeing results, it could be you are either not giving her enough or the liquid isn't as effective as the pills (which is also liquid but encapsulated). If she is experiencing ear problems (most of us do) you know the problems are layered (and another " clue " vaccine injury). You must look toward the biomed autism community to research further www.generationrescue.com. Doesn't matter what dx she has or has not... they are all vaccine injured (imo). Get the teaspoon dropper (many of them) at the local grocery store. Cut/clip with very pointy scissors found in sewing stores. Put this in the dropper... all of them together. You DO NOT NEED to give her juice to mask the taste. Get her used to one full dropper of vitamins. I would do 2 efa's and 1 epa and E - put it all together. In the beginning, I ramped it up to 3'x's daily. My boy went from 50 unintellible words to short phrases in 3 months (he was 3.5). I started the diet gf/cf and a long list of biomeds. Went through the conventional Dr.s AND overpriced therapist maze of uslessness - read every day / all day. It's a learning curve, get to a DAN! forget the dev ped, ped neuro...they offer little to NO valuable insight. Unless, of course you want a label and a script for spec ed for life. These kids are toxic and only the DAN! and a few select others ie. naturalpaths, homeopathic, chriopractors have a clue... but no one knows our kids better than the DAN Dr.s. Be sure to get an active one, I had that experience too. Talk to other parents and fly if necessary to get to one. And pay the bill with satisfaction knowing you are finally on the path to actually healing your child. You want a band aid or do you want to heal? a little more than you asked for... best wishes! > > For my two year old who can't swallow a pill, I give her the liquid form of > the Omega 3-6-9 (Nordic Naturals). Guest guest
It's confusing what to do Cherie. Seems like everything I read on the internet relating to treating yeast contradicts each other! My massage therapist said when you detox, especially w/ a far infared sauna or ionic foot bath, it can detox minerals and vitamins along with it. So, she gives me a multi-vitamin w/ an alpha lipoic acid which I take with water mixed w/ powdered Vit C and powdered glutathione after each session. Guest guest
I am 10 months post-op and have been taking IsotonixR MultiTechT with Iron, for 7 months now and I feel great, as well as my blood work has been great. It is a powder vitamin that you take first thing in the morning on and empty stomach. Your system is supposed to absorb it within 5 minutes, so it seems like it would be good for us MBGer's! I only take it once a day, but when I have my blood work done again for my 1 yr, if any levels have dropped, even slightly, I plan on taking them twice a day. I hate taking pills, and besides, pill vitamins never dissolve all the way. So far it has worked for me! Guest guest
Do you have problems swalloing a full sized vitamin? Is that why you were taking the children's? I take the ones recommended by Dr. R and my lab work is always pretty close to perfect ... B12 is a little low sometimes as well as iron. There is no way my labs would be this good with children's vits.... in GA > > Hello All: I have been taking 3 children's multi vitamins daily - but just can't seem to stand them anymore. Guest guest
I couldn't swallow the Wal-Mart One Source vitamins, so I take four Flintstone's Complete chewables daily. My bloodwork came back from the lab and everything is great, (I even get extra Iron with the Flintstones than I would have with the One source) so thankfully, they are working for me. Guest guest
Hi Dee For Vitamin C (250g powder), Probiotics and Fish Oil (EPA), I buy the Biocare brand through UK seller http://www.yournutritionshop.co.uk/ For CoQ10 and L-Carntine, I buy via US seller http://www.wholehealth.com/index.cfm?CFID=1778303 & CFTOKEN=33905703 For a multi-vitamin, I buy via US seller https://secure.endfatigue.com/store/products/supplements/ Dee you will probably be able to find cheaper sources. I prefer to pay a little bit more for the well-known brands. Let me know where you buy your vitamins in the end as I am always interested.
