Thanks so much. I wanted to add that low Vitamin D causes muscle pain and

weakness and joint pain. The deficiency can be detected with a blood test, I

take 2000 iu/day and it has really helped me.

Yes, but don't pay their retail prices!

I get mine here at a good discount, plus it's helping another bandster's small

home business:

www.MyBariatricSuccess.com

I take 2 daily BA Vita-band vits (love the watermelon or berry)

1-2 BA calcium citrate chewables

a B-50 for extra b vits

the BA omega 3 oil packets - is a tasty pudding

i also take 2000 iu of Vit D daily - the new recommendation for most of us. i

use the Carlson D-drops from online. one tasteless drop a day in anything, and

very cheap - like $12 for a year's supply.

just had my yearly vitamin/mineral testing and other labs - and everything is

perfect.

Hi, I bought the BA vitamins & I am having a hard time tolerating the calcium

ones. I bought the chocolate, thinking, what could be better? But I find them

very thick and chalky. I tried one the first day, but thought I just needed to

get used to it. I tried it again & finally had to drink water to get it down,

which then of course made me throw it right up. Any other suggestions? I have no

problem with the watermelon vita bands.

You must have gotten them thru the compnay and and paid full retail.

I don't like the chocolate either. You could try grinding them up and adding thm

to a couple tsp of food.

the ones I use are the cherry or mint chewable lozenges.

I get them thru this place below , at a good discount. she doesn't carry the

chocolate ones, as so few people do like them. If people try to order them, she

will tell them that they are odd-tasting and chalky.

www.MyBariatricSuccess.com

remember, all meds, vitamins, and supplemets must be washed thru the pouch

witha full glass of water, even if they are chewable. Things like vits have

vit C in them, and that is an acid that can hurt the pouch if it sits there.

over to you Bob - can you help Carol with the supplements please

(B12)? Do you have anybody in the Uk that could send you Ferrous Sulphate or

other supplements you cannot get in Thailand. Most of our members buy their mineral/vitamin

supplements from Internet Pharmacies - cheaper that way. Iron in multivitamins

is not in sufficient quantity to bring your stored iron levels up to where they

should be. You need something like Ferrous Sulphate 200mgs daily. Iron should

be taken on its own, well away from other tablets, and ESPECIALLY thyroid

hormone supplements. You should take these at least 3 to 4 hours away, and this

also includes tablets containing calcium. Some supplements you take with food,

others away from food - be guided by what it says on the pack.

Luv - Sheila

Hi Sheila, Deciding that due to lack of being

able to get bloods done, thought I'd get some vitamin supplements down me.

Hubby has been out and come back with Blackmores Vitamin C, 1000mg tablets -

Pack says 1 tab a day with a main meal..... and

Mecze 'Mecobalamin' Tablets 500mg, I wanted B12 after looking at the leaflet

inside find that these are manufactured in India, it also says that they are

........... " a form of endogenous coenzyme B12 " ........ is this the

right stuff??? The pack says take 1 tab x 3 a day, would this be about right?

I also wanted some Ferritin (Iron) tabs but can't find any - been to several

pharmacy's to be told that NO they don't have them here (Thailand) and are only

available as part of a MultiVitamin tab - I find this really strange.. oh this

country is weird!!!

From what I can remember in the UK chemists virtually 'give away' Iron tabs!!!

they are so common..

I understand that it is important to take supplements at the right time of day

other then swallowing them all together at breakfast - any guidance you can

offer me on how to get the most from vits would be so helpful.

Any help / suggestions would be so appreciated, thank you - Carol x

We buy from several sources. On-line we buy a few things from Kirkmans but most

things (Vit C, Magnesium, Coconut Oil, Candidase, Vit D, Vit E etc.) we buy from

iherb.com. I also buy CoQ10 from Trader Joe's as their softgels seem to work

fine but are cheaper.

My understanding is that it is recommended that we take 2 adult chewables (with iron) /day. I have seen Centrum adult recommended. I am also planning to supplement w/ the following:Calcium Citrate: 500mg 3x/day

Sublingual B12: 500 mcg/dayBiotin (May help with hair loss): 300mcg/dayFlax seed oil 2g/dayPrimrose Oi0l w L-carnatine: 1000mg/dayZinc, if multi does not contain at least 50 mg/dayVitamin A & D supplement

This is based on the recommendations of a friend who is a nutritionist. I think that the Multi, the calcium and the B12 are the most important for sleeve patients.Margo margo.nelson@...

If they cause a crash, don't take them. Could be the ingredients or you

just don't need them.

Calcium did the same thing. I think I need to do elimination diet with them. I

wanted to take the ones for acid metabolizers.

I take supplements recommended ( " prescribed " ) by my naturopath. Today I forgot

to take them and by afternoon I was toast. However, I have taken other kinds of

various sorts that I've had tested on me using various means that have proven

weakening to me. Some of this was before I started the O diet, and they were

made using milk and wheat products, whaddya know.

Before you take things for acid metabolizers you should be really sure you

have too much acid.

A lack of enough acid (which you need for proper digestion) causes many

symptoms and problems that are blamed on too much acid.

I think that is a reference to metabolism as opposed to symptoms.

Doesn't matter. If you take acid metabolizers using calcium you will most

likely be neutralizing stomach acid which in turn interferes with digestion

and absorption of your minerals (including calcium) which is what keeps the

acid balanced systemically.

Hello,

It may be that both of these are having strong reactions in your nervous system.

These are both nerve system support, but also primary/precursors to other cell,

stress & hormone support.

Heh heh. Yeah, I've taken calcium citrate with an animal protein meal

specifically to get as much of the mineral as possible (same for magnesium).

A supplement that had some popularity (and still gets good reviews) is ZMA.

Zinc-Magnesium Aspartate. Supposed to be a very easily assimilable form of the

two, it boosts androgen hormones and assists in tissue repair (along with a

bazzillion other things, of course). Many people have noticed it helps them get

to sleep, I know it sure makes me tired and sleep deeper after I've had it in

the PM. I think sometimes the elements the body needs can sometimes make that

body want to go into sleep. I think of it as a repair mode facilitator.

How's everyone doing?

Hey Axel

where have you been hiding?

Happy New Year

Magnesium is a natural muscle relaxant - basically.

The zinc especially good for men but can sometimes not be good for women

except under viral stress.

It isn't the vitamins that cause the problems, it is the added

garbage used to make them into tablets or capsules.

Stuff like magnesium stearate that wrecks the immune system but makes

stuff go through machinery more easily to get it into tablets or

capsules....

Irene,

I am coming in on the tail end of this message, but my son has a BIG reaction
