When I read that you answer 700 a day or maybe that was a week, I was very impressed and touched by your dedication to help us. I started your diet May 27th and have cheated as time goes on with fried food and red wine with no sulfites and some fruit, and have really been ok, but I have been steadfast on no sweets or soda's. I am really quite tired of water, but I play a lot of tennis and your natural electrolyte drink is the bomb!!!! +++Hi . That's good you are getting started on my program, and that you really like the electrolyte drink! > > If it's not too much trouble I wanted to tell you what vitamins I am taking and how much, my doctor said too much can be dangerous and I had a nasty outbreak on my shoulder and didn't know if this was related, the horrible dry, itching skin is what drove me to this diet, it's been chronic for over 10 years and nothing has helped, I am starting to see a little relief but feel like it will be such a slow process---ok here is what I take daily since March: +++I wouldn't need to review your list of supplements since the only ones you should be taking are on these lists, and the reasons for not taking others is also explained: Candida Supplements Description & Doses: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/supp1.php Candida Supplements Chart: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/supp7.php Also, I do not recommend taking any kind of probiotics, like acidophilus, nor any kind of antifungals, which is explained at the beginning of How to Successfully Overcome Candida, that is important for you to read: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro2.php > Thanks so much Bee for any input, I realized after typing this out, I may have too much of the B's (no pun intended)! +++That's funnee! Guest guest
> > Hi Bee, > > It was delightful talking with you this morning. I appreciate your wealth of knowledge. I'm so looking forward to the benefits of this program. What you say makes sense to me. I already have a question though. I've been looking at Iherb and different viatmins on the Net. Because my digestion is so bad, I would like to take all liquid vitamins. I notice that there are organic liquid B vitamins that have the required dosages but they are made from raisin concentrate with no added sweetners. The raisin base contributes 3g of sugar to each serving. Is this amount of natural sugar on a daily basis acceptable? Or must we be 100% sugar free.....Thanks again for all you do.... +++Hi Gail, I enjoyed talking with you too. It was noticeable that you did your homework in spite of having brain fog and poor concentration. My digestion was my worst candida symptom, however I was fine taking supplement in tablet and/or capsule form, so don't be concerned. At one point in time when I could only eat 9 foods, since everything else came back up, my supplements stayed down. : ) However, instead of taking Vitamin B Complex & Niacin, you can take Nutritional Yeast " Flakes " - it is #6 on the iHerb list; take 1 heaping tablespoon two times per day mixed into liquid. Some people like it in soup or in Bee's Egg Drink. It has a nice nutty flavor. All the best, Bee
Guest guest
Interesting, I never heard of that before. My question on this is, I have been prescribed minerals in the past by physicians (iron, Potassium) and they did work and was effective. My body didn't build up a resistance to them. I wonder in what way was he referring too on the biofilm part. Maybe multivitamins? Reda Guyness > > Someone whose opinion on health issues I value, was talking to me about vitamin supplements, and that the body will build up a resistance to them. He used the term " biofilm. " If I heard him correctly, he said that supplements may be more effective if you take them for three weeks, then don't take any for a week. > > When my energy drags, or I don't feel so great, I may wonder about the vitamins I'm taking. Maybe resistance does build up. But for me, a good guess is that I've just been lazy and failing to exercise enough! ;-) > > Clicking on the Confused About Vitamin Supplements? link on this website, I see: " … there are times where I just get tired of taking pills and I take a rest. Guest guest
One possibility is that a distinction needs to be made between taking supplements to deal with a specific problem, as opposed to long-term " maintenance " use?

Milk of magnesia-2 tsp. 3x week for constipation. Natural Calm magnesium if possible. For constipation, you can try increasing the magnesium, or the yeast protocol. Most of what you are giving will tend to increase yeast, and you really having nothing to help with that. I don't see a problem giving all of these items together. Most of them are low doses. > Thanks a bunch for your help. I have tried HNI enzymes which seem to cause stomach distress and behaviors, same with probiotics. History of acid reflux. Try Kirkman or Klaire enzymes, see if those work better. Or a pancreatic enzyme. My son never really did tolerate probiotics. The longest time I was ever able to use them successfully was a month. I used biotin instead. Dana

Guest guest
GMP is a fairly well respected third party certification. " Good Manufacturing Practices " . They audit companies and check active ingredients for accuracy. I sell supplements in my health food store, and for the most part I agree with you that you don't have to spend a lot to get a good quality supplement. I'd be wary of those without any third party certifications and are dirt cheap, but other than that, you're probably OK. I really like Now Foods brand (www.nowfoods.com). Buddy ----------- Buddy A. Guest guest
Hi there, I hope others will jump in here but I did want to mention that some of the autism protocols restrict copper and iron. Dr. Amy Yasko limits these and I have had improvement on the Modified Yasko protocol developed by Rich Van Konyenburg (or Konynenburg -apologies to Rich). Dr. Yasko has a multi vitamin that she uses but I use a different one that was recommended to me by an autism mother (I teach 2 autistic kids in my Sunday school class). It is Klaire Labs Vita Spectrum. I am doing better on this multi vitamin than any other. In addition to no copper or iron, it has some bioavailable vitamins/supplements to assist in methylation or to bypass methylation defects. For example, MTHFR genetic polymorphism means difficulty or inability to process folic acid from foods and convert it to the two bioavailabe forms 5 methyl tetra hydrofolate (5 MTHF) and 5 formyl tetra hydrofolate, so this vitamin has 5 MTHF instead of regular folic acid so the body can just use it without having to convert it. I do not use the normal daily dose of 6 capsules. I am currently taking 3 capsules daily. I purchase mine at a local compounding pharmacy that specializes in the supplements for various autistic protocols. It costs $32 for a one months supply (at 6/day) so it is very cost effective. Guest guest
Normally iron is not needed much unless person has some blood loss. As far as the cu issue goes I would do some testing inorder to be able to decide that as you had been supplementing with no Cu (but containing zinc) supplement for some time..Serum zinc and cupper would be fine o check that. best wishes nil Vitamins Many years ago Cheney, M.D., PhD. recommended that those with ME use take a multi-vitamin WITHOUT copper and iron. Guest guest
Why not get tested for your levels of Iron and Copper. While at it get tested for other metals such as lead, mercury, chromium, cadmium etc. A hair annalysis is a cost effective way. You can get one with our a doctors order on line or through some pharmacies. > > > Many years ago Cheney, M.D., PhD. recommended that those with ME use take a multi-vitamin WITHOUT copper and iron. Guest guest
Can she swallow big pills? I personally get nauseated from any vitamins that are not vegetarian/vegan (even though I'm not vegetarian/vegan), so I usually take the ones from Rainbow Light. They make chewable vitamins, too. Guest guest
Pure forms of vitamins that are free of known allergens can be purchased from places like http://www.myvillagegreen.com/c-695-pharmacy-compounding.aspx or even http://www.leesilsby.com/ I am sure that there are others. I did find out recently that Leesilsby will try to bill insurance and if any of you have Tricare they cover some of the items as long as you have a doctors script.
