Resisting an urge to seek reassurance from other people,e.t.c when you possibly know that you doing it to get relief from an emotional or to feel more certain. What a powerful urge to rid yourself of, have read that the urge to seek reassurance compulsively,(ocd) is addictive, and as strong as crack cocaine,. Anyone have pointers to help from actually asking for reasurance . Can it be a value "lm not doing this anymore "or is that a

Positive affirmation thats not workable .

Professor just mentioned the " tug of war with the monster metaphor " in his recent post.

As I understand this metaphor is used to describe the our inner conflicts with our thoughts and emotions.

Can this metaphor be helpfully used when we come across people who are not behaving with us nicely or fairly. Using this metaphor, can we refuse to pick up the rope and focus on our valued action?

Professor mentions on page 3 of " " Get out of your mind and into your life " : " What if they fought a war and nobody came! "
