Guest guest
Dr. Goldberg has been wanting to get our son off LDN (low dose naltrexone) since we started seeing him last summer. This has been very difficult for us as it was the medicine that changed his life for the good... VERY dramatic difference. He stopped screaming constantly, he could handle going to school and therapy, he wasn't as resistant, Scripting turned to paraphrasing over night,he potty trained overnight, he got sick less often and less severely. Dr. G said he would rather use SSRI's and possibly tenex to acheive the same thing. Any way we started going off LDN around christmas (reducing to every other day, then to every third day and eventually stopped.) We did see a regression in what our son could handle when we removed LDN (not back to the level he was at before we started LDN, but a regression none the less), increased aggression, he has been sick more often than not since starting to reduce it, etc. I am very concerned. I am on board with everything else we have done with Dr. Goldberg. I think he is an excellent doctor. But I am really concerned that he is throwing out the baby with the bath water on this one. Has anyone been able to stay on LDN and stay with Dr. G. I do not want to lose the first doctor that really seems to understand what is going on with our son and how to treat it. But I also do not want to see my son lose gains he has made on LDN. Any advice?
