Guest guest
I have turned on all switches before powering up and I keep everything below 13. I am slow to adjust my ample know and have done everything as directed. I ran the coil for two years and was amazed at how much better I had felt. In fact I thought I was past Lyme. About 8 months ago my coil machine started acting erattic. I would turn up the ample knob and it would just scan numbers and never settle on any given number. I could still hear the pitch hum, but couldn't get it to work right. I quit using the machine and found that slowly over time I was getting kind of achy again. I fell on the ice on my driveway and twisted my ankle and it just doesn't seem to heal. I finally tried replacing the battery in my multimeter and that did not help, so I called and he said that he thinks my potentiometers went out in my amp. I replaced the fuses in the amp and one channel would show yellow and the other would show red even though the gain knobs were totally turned down. Anyway, I live in Anchorage and no one works on the QSC amplifier here, so I ordered the parts and the service manual and my husband and I are going to attempt to change out the potentiometers ourselves in hopes that this will solve the problem. If it doesn't then I will have to send my amp to Seattle and shipping is very expensie because it is so heavy. My point is, even though you take good care of your amps, it is best to baby them as much as possible, because they are costly to replace. > > I bought the Doug Coil from Levy. He provides really really detailed instructions (for the lyme brain) with the machine plus great customer service. I usually set my machine at 13 amps because the coil will last longer. He does not require this. I asked him about it and he said 15 max but lower is fine. However that does weaken the power somewhat. Some of what you said Tara are apparently not concerns with my machine. I turn the amps fairly slow but definitely not 8 secs of time to do it ( says VERY slowly but I think I go faster than VERY). My gain knobs are always full on position as instructed by in his operating manual. So I do think they are slightly different. Or maybe it is just preference by the maker of the machines. I assume everything is running properly. Nothing has exploded yet. It did by accident turn up my amps before setting the capacitor switches and my gain knobs went crazy. It took me a > little while to realize what I had done and I freaked out thinking the machine broke. I don't think there was any damage but I never did that again. > > >
