Guest guest
we havent chelated yet but i can tell you that certain supps cause reflux to flair up in me and my son. if my son's reflux kicks up it causes: lack of eating and drinking (really backs off drinking, holds it in his mouth), sleep disturbances, hyperactivity right after eating, moaning and groaning any time during the day. it's taken me a while to get the list of symptoms together and we lucked out because his gi put a monitor on him and i could see for myself when he was refluxing. but, my list was pretty acurate as to what behaviors meant reflux. you may want to try to get a list together and that way you would know when chelator or other supp was kicking up the reflux. > > Can I continue to chelate even though my son has developed reflux? I am concerned the chelator dose will be coming back up into his mouth. > > I am thinking we need a break in order to figure out what is causing the problem. Opinions? > > Thanks- > Ann >
Guest guest
> Would anyone have any good tips on how to address reflux in an older child? Digestive enzymes and yeast control worked here. >>It has cropped up after a recent DMSA/ALA round along with a nagging cough. Increase the yeast protocol, both of these were yeast symptoms here. >>He was on some anti-microbials at the same time, so I'm wondering if this is yeast overgrowth? Yep, you are a good observer. Guest guest
Reflux is a deeper sign often of food allergies or intolerances. So eliminating the offending foods can often time be the answer. Have you done any food allergy testing? Tammy [ ] reflux Is there anything else that can help with reflux other than probiotics and enzymes? Guest guest
Is there anything else as in you have already tried these two to no avail? The common first suggestion from a nutritional standpoint is to take ACV (apple coder vinegar) and see if it subsides. If yes, you are lacking in stomach acids and supplementing with something like HCL is helpful. There is another spot on the ribs that is sore if you are deficient, but that is neither here nor there. This is the best HCL I have found (I was on prevacid and all sorts of things from the MD before I found an ND): http://www.qncenter.com/store/product.php?productid=16144 Food allergy tests are helpful as someone else mentioned. > > Is there anything else that can help with reflux other than probiotics and enzymes? > TIA, > Kathy > >
Guest guest
This used to be a huge problem for my son when he was about 2.5-3.5. We did the food allergy and it turned out he only had a slight allergy to dairy and that was it. He had such a self limited diet he didn't even eat any dairy. He was diagnosed at age 3 and we started biomed and got him on probiotics and enzymes and also cutting up his food in much smaller portions helped. Best of luck! > > Reflux is a deeper sign often of food allergies or intolerances. Guest guest
Hi all, My son is recovering from viral and chest infection, so he was on an antibiotic. He's been real off and yesterday we realized that his reflux is back (more obvious as the days went on I can now hear it) and he's really uncomfortable. Just wondering if any of you have a child with reflux and what you do to keep them well. I am hoping not to go back on zantac or Prevacid (reflux baby and was on it for first almost 3 years of life). He's 5 and we've just started with the protocol w/ valtrex. I'm keeping fat low, meals smaller and every 2 hours. Please share any ideas/thoughts. Thanks!!!Kathi
Guest guest
> > About taking HcL pills after meals: I take 5 after animal protein meals and it seems to work well. Taking 5 after beans and rice does not seem to work well and I am wondering how many, if any to take after this lower protein type meal. +++Hi , It doesn't help to take HCl with carbs like beans and rice, as I explained in my previous message to you. Please re-read it to make sure you understand. Bee
