Guest guest
It's possible to be allergic to drugs like Cozaar. Any hives, or just itchiness? Pierre Cozaar I've a question regarding Cozaar. I'm taking Cozaar 100mg for last one week and I'm feeling itchy in my whole body since yesterday. Please let me know whether you have any advice. Will this condition go away soon? Thanks, Anova. ---------------------------------
Guest guest
Cozaar (losartan) is invented by the Dutch farmacology reasearcer Dr. P. Timmermans. On inspection it appeared that 9000 people in America and Scandinvie have had a good outcome without unpleasant side-effects. This drug decreases the relapse of the kidney-function (according Dr. P. Timmermans better than beta blockers). The results will be published this week in The Lancet (British medical journal). Guest guest
I've been on many ACE inhibitors and since 1996, Cozaar (losartan), Diovan (valsartan), and Avapro (irbesartan). To me, the 'sartans feel very much like the ACE inhibitors, except they don't cause quite as much coughing. Effect on blood pressure is about the same. Guest guest
6 months ago I was taking Cozaar regularly, 100mg per day. I don't remember of feeling itchy whole day then. It started few days ago after taking Cozaar for a week. Its just itchiness all the time. In fact I took Benadryl last 2 nights to sleep. I've stopped Cozaar from yesterday but even then I'm feeling itchy. My creatinine is 1.1mg/dl. I'm not allergic to any food and I haven't changed any food habit. Is it possible that my body was tolerating Cozaar 6 months ago but is not tolerating anymore? When do you think the itchiness would go away? I stopped Cozaar from last night. Thanks. Guest guest
It's hard to tell with these things. I remember when I had a reaction to a different kind of BP med. Doctor said to keep taking Benadryl for a week, and prescribed an EpiPen just in case. Of course, that was more than just hitching. If it IS the Cozaar - and you never know, could be something else entirely - it should be 3 or 4 days before the drug is completely cleared from your system.
