I bounced around like a kid for about four hours. My husband had never seen me so bouncy and cheerful. He asked me if I had taken some happy drugs :-) When I said that for some inexplicable reason, I had no pain, he looked at me like I fell on my head. <grin> Alas, like you, the pain came back within a few hours. But, I sure did enjoy the feeling while it lasted.:-) > I drop things frequently now, they just fall out of my hands! I > believe this is do to nerve damage. I'm forever dropping things. Or falling down. I've been doing that for years now, so I figure they just go with the territory. I know at this point in your problems, you probably haven't developed much of a sense of humour for this kind of stuff, but believe me, a sense of humour goes a long way in making all of this nonsense more bearable. I wish the " I've fallen and I can't get up! " advertisements were still on TV. I've managed to turn that line into something that made me and anyone near me laugh. I've been cut up, black and blue, swollen, etc. from falls, but damn, some of them have been funny. I have a lovely fur coat with a hood. I picked it up second hand for next to nothing, but it's in perfect shape. I was wearing it one day in early spring. It was melting outside and there was ice under the water. I was carefully wending my way along when my feet went out from under me. There I was -- flat out, full length, in a ice puddle. My beautiful new coat was soaked. I was soaked. I could have been upset about the whole thing, but I laid there, realizing just how ridiculous I looked. I was laughing as I struggled to get out of the puddle. A soaking wet, below the knee length fur coat is very heavy. I was right next to a high rise when I fell. I wish someone had been out on his/her balcony and had taken a downward picture of me. That would have been a keeper. <grin> > I did see a physical therapist which gave me exercises to do at home. > I was very deligent in doing them for many months but have recently > given up on them. Have you given up on them, because you don't feel any results? Or have you given up because they're tedious? If it's the former, you need new exercises. If it's the latter, then get back at them. My physical therapy exercises are what keep me mobile. > I do see a osteopath once a week, he is remarkable!
