Dear Friends,

I am jumping with joy and wanted to share with everyone that I had my first

interactive conversation with my son . I have been waiting for this day and

hoping one day he will be able to tell me what are his wants and needs

without

me prompting and guessing what he wants.

Our conversation was very basic. Our evening routine before going to bed I

talk

out loud to the boys and tell them how much time they have left before

going to

bed. This time got up and said to me " No mommy you keep on working

and

on the computer " He really got me by surprise so I had to ask " I

am

sorry what did you say? He repeated again mommy you keep on working and

on the computer. So I smile with tears and said Ohh! you want me to

continue

to work so you can have more time on your computers and responded YES!!!!

:-)

If you are reading this I am hoping that encourages you and if you have a

child

who is non-verbal please continue to fight for him/her never give up .

I want to thank everyone who is always sharing their experiences on this

group

it has kept me grounded and lifted my spirit when I had been down.

Hi ,

How old is your son? Is he on SSRI? If so how long has he been on?

My son is 13 and I am going to make appointment with Dr.Goldberg. Thank you.

,

What a great story!!! Thanks for calling and telling me about it. I am so

happy for both of you. Now the real work starts. You need to catch him up

on everything he missed. You go girl and get busy. You will be amazed what

hard work will bring.

Love,

Marcia
