I lost a lot of weight and continue to do so on morphine.

Things don't taste right and I have no appetite but I can afford to lose the

weight and I need the pain control so I just take it anyway.

Jim, morphine does cause a metal-type taste in the mouth, like

sucking on a dry penny.

Also (as with Fibromyalgia) you can get a case of dry mouth which

will drastically increase the metal taste in your mouth.

The prescription drug, Evoxac is a miracal medication for dry mouth and

produces sufficient saliva to wash away the metal taste.
