Guest guest
Dear Crew, As some of you may know, Temodal has been approved for a wide variety of brain tumors. It apparently has very little side effects(but hopefully alot of good effects) In NY, Beth Israel, under Jeff , is conducting a trial of this specifically for schwannomas. Barbara B, I know you're trying to find out about drug therapies in the city) They also are testing thalidomide--more in NF1, but perhaps we can begin being considered. I looked into thalidomide for Adam, but was told there might be a small 10% chance of peripheral neuropathy(tingling to actual loss of sensation). However, it appears in the larger testing going on now, this incidence is actually dropping. I've asked Dr. to send me info to post to all of you, but even outside of NYC, Temodal is being widely utilized. Check with your neuro-oncologists about this drug, and see if there is any good news in this area. Barbara lin
