Guest guest
Hi I wonder how you experiment? I have tried lot of medication which my Gp prescribed to me. I have only had one prescription of Tramadol and amitriptyline from the Pain Clinic, which was prescribed a year ago. I haven't stopped them in case the pain is worse but its bad enough with them. I have to wait for the appointment at the pain clinic at the end of Feb. My Gp did give me patches of " Fentanyl " and she did say that if they didn't work she would up the dose. I am usually ok with medication but this knocked me for six. I am tired most of the time because I can't sleep right through the night, but these made me so tired that I was falling asleep as soon as I got up!! I couldn't do anything! so I stopped that. I haven't got any medication to experiment with. I don't want to bother my GP again as it is her that sent me to the pain clinic. Oh, I can't wait to get there. I am wondering what wonderful idea's they will come up with. I see you Americans have an awful time with getting meds and disability. Getting Disability can be a bit of a nightmare here. My husband had to fight for four years to get it. I got it a couple of years ago for another illness but I still have to re claim every 2 years. If they give it for life then the worry is over. If we receive Income Support/Social Security we don't pay for our Meds, and we receive the equivalent of Social security if we can't work and haven't much savings. Regards Berenice " I do experiment with my meds a good bit, right now I believe ii have them about just right and truthful I cut down on a lot of them "
Guest guest
> Hi > I wonder how you experiment? > Berenice, We all do it. We try to cut down but it is the worst thing we can do to ourselves. I went on timed Morphine and was titered to a nice dose and then I decided on my own to cut down. I finally decided I cannot worry about the amount I am taking but the amount I am taking is helping me. It seems that you went from a fairly mild medication Tramadol to a very strong medication Fentanyl. There are so many opiates in between that can be used, Berenice, so I would go back and ask for one of the in between opiates, like MS Contin, percocet, Avinza, and there are many others. So please see your GP and tell her that it was too strong. Also a pain diary will help you when you go to the pain doctor. You can type in the words pain diary, and there are many examples. If you want, I will send you copies I have. This helps the doctor see what hours you have pain, what helps and what they can do. It has helped me so much, and I keep a copy for my records.
