Feds may take files out of the clinic and they leave documentation of

what is taken. They do not disrupt the facility after that. They have to

review the files.

Pharmacy are also subject to reviews of patients medication. If there is

different doctors and same medication requested by them, it sends a red flag.

I think they have a computer system that will print out those listed

that are problem ones. I take avinza timed morphine with a break-thru

medication.

My insurance requires I call each month for an override because its as if I am

taking two narcotics in the same time period when one is prn.

I am so afraid I will be red flagged but my insurance company and

pharmacist says don't worry because they know that I have degenerative disc

disease,auto wreck with complications, and herniated disc.

I saw on the TV commercial that the Intervention program for this

coming Monday is for a woman with rheumatoid arthritis who abuses her

prescription drugs. I want to see this as I feel for the woman. I

know she is never out of pain.

We had a neighbor when we were assigned in the military that his wife

overdose and died from having Rheumatoid arthritis. The need to take

more medication to be out of pain sometimes arises from the fact that

some patient aren't on the right medications or treatment plan. I

wonder how many patients have suffered because of this.

I know I did for seven years because my insurance company and the anesthesiology

who was my pain management doctor want to keep injecting me. These injections

caused me extensive scarring and the last visit I had with him I was scheduled

for an injection.

He came into inject me and looked in my chart and said Whoops, we get thru you

scar tissue last time to inject steroids. SO I was lying there to be told there

was nothing left for me at his clinic. In other words, he had gotten his worth.

I had been in so much pain, I would listen to anything to help me get

relief. My poor husband wanted the same thing. I belief we all should have a

pain advocate when we are in pain that we can't intervene for ourselves that the

advocate could.

I am tired of my fellow pain friends being taken advantage of and

myself also. Well, thats soapbox and I am off of it now.

I just try to not let any doctors do anything invasive anymore as the

invasive treatments I had only made it worse.
