Great rates starting at 1 & cent;/min. Hi Janna, Welcome to the group! I was also addicted to vicodin (Lortab brand) for a year. I just completed a tapered withdrawal about two months ago. The drugs were prescribed initially for chronic, daily migraines. Like you, I began taking more and more just to get high, until I was eventually addicted and couldn't easily stop. Eventually I upped my dose enough that I wasn't really functional anymore, just sort of dazed all the time and then the euphoria began to fade. This group recommends a very slow taper for all drugs, and I found that to be the best way. At first I tried making cuts that were larger and the withdrawal symptoms were too difficult to manage -- the slower cuts are much easier on the system. There are files here about tapering, nutrition and supplements that are all very helpful. It took me awhile, but I eventually became very serious about the recommended diet and that has helped me a lot in feeling even-keeled, which is really important during the taper. The recommended magnesium also helped me with some of the withdrawal symptoms...it relaxed the muscle tension and helped me sleep when I made those final cuts. Again, welcome. Thanks for sharing your story. Hugs,

I felt like they were the only thing keeping me afloat and that my moods would crash to nothing without them. I just wanted to say that for me those feelings were just an insidious illusion of the addiction....in fact, everytime I made a cut and finished with the withdrawal sypmtoms for that cut, I would begin to feel a little bit better mood-wise. So....while it can seem depressing and overwhelming in the beginning, it isn't bad at all if you take it slowly. Today I am so glad to be off those pills! All pharmaceutical drugs take their toll on people's health and you will be better fortified to heal without this addiction. But before we we can really figure out the best way for you to approach this, we need more details. For instance: How long have you been taking these drugs? How much do you take? Are you on any other drugs at this time or undergoing chemotherapy? How old are you? Do you have any health issues (other than the recent surgery)? What supplements are you taking (brands and doses, too)? The more details you can give, the better I can guide you. I'm glad you posted.
