Hi Everyone

If you have chronic panic/anxiety attacks, social

phobia, whatever you wish to call it. A psychiatrist

is almost always more capable of treating it than a

family doctor.

My son, used to have them, along with PTSD. He takes

Lexapro, Klonopin, and a very low dose of Propranolol

(Inderal).

It is amazing how well, and quickly the Propranolol

works. A much higher dose is used to control blood

pressure. Other Beta Blockers, have been used

successfully too. This is primarily for his PTSD.

Below, is a copy of a post I sent in quite some time

ago about using Propranolol for PTSD:

Hi Everyone

My son has PTSD, and his psychiatrist prescribed a

very low dose of Inderal. Inderal, also called

Propanalol, can be affective to prevent some types of

migraine headaches too. It was originally designed for

high blood pressure. The generic price is very

inexpensive.

Here are some of the other names for it:

* U.S.: Inderal, Inderal LA

* Canada: Apo-Propranolol, Detensol, Inderal, Inderal

LA, Novopranol, pms Propranolol

I know that quite a few members have panic disorders,

anxiety problems, and perhaps some of the are due to

PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

I thought some of you might wish to look into it.

Remember, it is a very low dose, so don't be too

alarmed if you read that it has adverse reactions to

some medications.

The adverse reactions only occur at the dose needed to

decrease high blood pressure or hypertension.

The link, dose a good job explaining what PTSD, and

how the medication works.
