Hi Penny,

I am sorry you are having such a rought time adjusting to your fibromyalgia and

other pain issues. I also have fibromyalgia, among other things. I have it

pretty bad. I am sorry you don't get any support from your mom. I am glad your

husband and daughter are helpful for you. This is a great group and everyone

here is wonderful and very helpful.

I also hate limitations. When my chronic pain started when I injured my knee, I

began the life of limitations. Now that both my knees are not working very well

and I have arthritis and fibromyalgia, I have slowly learned how to somewhat

cope. I still get frustrated because I can't always do what I want to do. I

was originally injured at age 16 and then re-injured at 23. I am 29 now. I am

lucky to have an understanding family, for the most part.

You can come here for support and advice and understanding. All of us here are

in pain every day, so we know just how you feel!

Here are two books that I have found to be greatly helpful. They are

by Cohen- husband of Meredith Vieira from the Today Show-

Books:

Strong at the Broken Places...voices of illness, a chorus of hope

and

Blindsided: Lifting a Life ABove Illness: A Reluctant Memoir

Both are by Cohen- he suffers from M.S.- but I have found

these two books truly inspirational. Both are available on

amazon.com, and the prices are about $15. each, although there may be

used ones for less.
