Guest guest
It all started Wed when I went to the doctor for the usual pain I have in my back and legs. She recently confirmed the diagnosis of fibromalgia and had me on Lyrica for the pain. The Lyrica did not work for me so I asked for a medication change. After a lengthy exam and conversation we decided om 15 mg of MSContin twice a day and 4 mg of Zanaflex (a muscle relaxer) 3 times a day, I can take 2 muscle relaxers if needed. I woke at 3:00 am Thurs. morning in pain so bad, in my stomach right where my gall bladder would be if I still had one, all I could do was sit on the edge of the bed and cry. I immedately looked up the info on the muscle relaxer and it stated to call the doctor if you experance stomach pain, so I called first thing Thursday morning, by the time I had decided to go to the ER, I hurt so bad I could barely walk. That was Saturday. I called her emergency number at least 15 times with no responce so I called for Mom, and meracously only waited for about 15 min before being called back. The doctor proceeded to diagnose me in about 5 min and one touch, Told me that I have costochondritis. Which is basicaly an inflamation, but to a totagl sternum. He said it was caused by my fibromyalga, or a cough, or even spontainously. Basically the ER doctor had the nerve to suggest, on the basis of a 5 min visit, that I was drug seaking and an adicted to my perscription medication. To make that kind of a suggrstion to patient that you know is one thing, but to make it to a total stranger is something else.
