Ron Pat, I have been on it for only two to three months. The first month the doctor put me on two at bedtime since I was not sleeping but I realized I needed it during the day also. I asked my doctor if I can take it twice a day in the daytime and he said. I went to the Lyrica website and looked at the dosing site and it said it can be increased and three times a day is really helpful so I am asking next month. I took three for a week and I could really help! So I am asking my doctor to increase the 75mg to three times a day. Go to the website and read the dosing information, interactions, and complications It has really helped me and I hope it continues to. Guest guest
> How much are most of ya'll on? Hi I am on 50 mg in the am and in the pm- 150 mgs afternoon and evening. I went to the lower morning dose due to early day sleepiness. I still have the drowsiness with the lower am dose. I started with 50 mgs 3 times a day, and worked up to the 150 mgs. I am not sure if it is working. Back in July, my doctor weaned me off of it, and my pain did increase. Never, ever, come off Lyrica cold turkey. I tried, when I was weaning, to decrease pills too rapidly and had terrible withdraw symptoms. All in all, I believe it is helping me some. I just was looking for more pain control than it is able to give me. I also gained a lot of weight when I was on Neurontin and then the Lyrica. When I weaned off the Lyrica in July, just for 4 weeks- I lost 11 lbs without even trying. in PA

But, I want to see if something out there works better with less side effects. The Neurontin causes me to be sluggish and I do not like that lol. Guest guest
Hi Ron pat I did take 75mg 4 times a day but they just upped it to 150mg 6 times per day. Hope this helps. The 150mg 6 x daily is a bit high but it doesn't appear to give me any side effects and I'm not zombied out. So, I guess as long as it helps the pain and keeps seizures under control then I'm okay. I'll be praying, Carol (OK) >ron Pat wrote: >I’ve tried it twice before , but this time they upped the dose a lot and it seems to be helping I’m 75mg 3 times a day. Guest guest
I have continuously been on Lyrica for over 2 years. I hate meds. I'm also on: Fentanyl Patch/Soma/Liquid Morphine/ and take Prevacid and Axid (to help with what the meds have and are doing to my stomach. I had the Dr. put me on lowest dose and am now taking 600mg a day. I stopped taking the Lyrica at one point ( since I was still in pain -I figured what was the sense of taking the medication). I also wanted to see if I could just tolerate the pain. I never would have thought that the Lyrica was helping as much as it was. I have herniated discs/spurs and pinches nerves in spine. I stopped for 2 days. The pain was unbelievable. I re-started the lyrica and immediately got relief. That gave me the answer I was looking for (not that I wanted to have to go back to them). I honestly couldn't believe the relief I got. Of course still in pain. But, I litterally was in so much pain- couldn't move. The pain, shocks, burning etc. that I had while off it-unreal. I did that with all my meds. With the soma- the spasms in my upper, middle and lower back were so bad- especially between my shoulders (in back) that even arms hurt so bad and I had hardly any Range of motion. It was hard ( and still is) to accept that I'm " broken " and need them to do as much as I can. (Add in too many times physically injuring my head). Even harder to accept that that I'm not " fixed " yet and able to go back to life and do things independently. I am thankful in the end though. I am alive. I have more than some have. Still have my arms, legs, hearing and eyesite. They may not work the same or as good- but some have to live without them. Sorry so long. New to group. Promise to be short next time (if I don't get thrown out for this one). Not allowed to complain or talk about pain or anything medical(medicines, surgeries pain management etc. with some family (their rules). Wish I hadn't come back to NY till better. Had better support elsewhere. Again, Sorry.

I would rather go back on the Topamax and lose weight. I have to go off Lyrica because my blood pressure is up from all the fluid retention. I think I will be OK because this swelling is really hurting also. Good Luck to others. Bennie
Guest guest
It seems so weird too hear you say how much fun you had with your grandchildren. I`m glad Lyrica seems to be working for you too., It`s doing so well for me I`m nearly thinking it`s spooky. I went away on Saturday at 10 am and never got home until 6pm, and even managed to work the next day. I feel pretty good after a long weekend. I put 150 miles on my car and usually that would put me out of commision for days. I`m just so hoping it keeps working. Is Lyrica what we needed for a long time, I sure hope so. Wouldn`t it be just wild to live with fibro and other illness, and still be able to have a life. Here`s hoping ou have another great day, ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo!
